"Israeli intelligence says Hezbollah has as many as 30 Zelzal-2 rockets, a 610 mm heavy artillery rocket that can deliver a warhead of more than 1,000 pounds to a range of 130 miles, giving it the ability to hit the northern outskirts of Tel Aviv from the Israeli-Lebanese border."

1st - Tel-Aviv (i think) is a lot closer than 130 miles to the Lebanon border 2nd - 1000 lb warhead 130 miles and they have 30 of them. This could be like 91' all over again

The reporterette stated something to the effect of Israel is operating under the assumption that Iranian revolutionary guard fired it.

Israeli radio is apparently carrying the story now

When we post-mortem this thing completely, I think we'll discover that Israeli radio report was the original source, heard and repeated by Fox and CNN.

But the friends of Iran are telling us that the Revolutionary Guard are not on the ground in southern Lebanon...

Yes, they specifically mentioned the Iran Revolutionary Guard instead of just saying the missile was Iranian made (which we had already assumed).

And yet nothing, repeat nothing--to this effect regarding Iranian Guard direct action, in written form on the CNN and FOX Websites (7:05 p.m. Eastern).

They won't for whatever reason, put this damned thing down in unretractable PRINT!!!!!

Can we stop the damn bitching at each other and get back to following what is going on in Israel and Lebanon.

Thank you very much!

we'll see if she repeats this or backs off.

She's pounding it home...

Here's an interesting clip from a 2001 item in the Wall Street Journal, The Happy Warrior:

Ominously, too, he says, Iran is deploying in Lebanon missiles that are under direct Iranian command and control.

For months Israel has known about the al-Fajar missile, which has a range of 70 kilometers and can threaten Haifa. Neither the Clinton administration nor the Barak government made an issue of the Fajar deployment, for fear of upsetting efforts to reach an Israeli-Syrian treaty during the first half of 2000.
