He had a letter/pamphlet I think, as a sign up bonus a while back. A relative of mine has tried for a long time to get one, it was titled something like 'How to debate a liberal and win every time'.

I thought his quote was 'Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level & beat you with experience.' That could be an FR quote too though.

Either way, both are pretty good! I like his letter, but I really want access to the parodies :-)

"If I remember correctly, their normal half-assed unguided Katyushas can't reach Haifa. If that's true, then this was one of their longer-range missiles that they got from...surprise...Iran.

}:-)4"

Very easy to tell if this is indeed true. All countries know Iran and Syria are the players behind Hamas and Hezbollah. Now it is justing becoming too obvious for the world (or at least Israel) to ignore.

Two days ago the US amb to Iraq named Syria and Iran in what was said to be unusually harsh language for him, and the President has named them for 3 days in a row.

I wonder if this means anything?

Hezbollah is playing brinksmanship and counting on the Israeli response to be less than effective. In my opinion, Israel could end this whole situation and buy some serious quiet time by launching a determined and effective series of overwhelming attacks on targets (human and otherwise) in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. I don't, however, seen any indication that this is going to happen.

With hezbollah reaching 18 miles to Haifa, the Israeli army must occupy the Lebanese countryside at least 18 miles plus in order to protect its cities. I belive the previous range of the katusha rockets was 7 - 9 miles. Israel will have no other options.

Just in from our business friends in and around Haifa.

"We will survive (as usual...) however I just heard 3 min. ago that one rocket has fallen about 100 yards from the refinery and this is not a joke anymore... "

The refinery is on the outskirts of Haifa. That refinery gets hit and I believe it will be on for really really real.

Along with that question should be another. Will Israel stand by and watch that happen again? Those are two good questions.

IMO Israel's airforce is more than capable of preventing that from taking place. If I were Syria, I might think this a good time to enter the list of civilized nations, or face Israel's wrath. Of course Syria will probably see this as the opportunity to rally anti-Israeli and anti-Western nations adherants. What it will get for it's trouble is a sound trashing, once again MO.

Of course the wild-card in all this is Russia, which has been closely alligned with Syria for a long time.

What's it's view going to be on all this? There's certainly a significant faction of Europe that will condemn Israel for anything it does.

IDF Bombs Southern Beirut, Gasoline Depot
21:24 Jul 13, '06 / 17 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) IDF planes and Navy vessels have struck southern Beirut and hit a gasoline supply depot at an air field. Air Force planes also bombed the highway between Beirut and Damascus.

Israel has vowed to close land and sea routes from Lebanon in an effort to keep Hizbullah terrorists from transporting two kidnapped IDF soldiers to Iran.

The southern part of Beirut has mainly Shi'it inhabitants and is a strong point of Hezbollah's.

Sounds like a good target.

"I thank Olmert and the other peace doves for being so timid in the past few years that this sore was allowed to fester, and Hizbollah was allowed to build up its base in Lebanon."

Bring back Benjamin Netanyahu. Olmert is a bright guy but Netanyahu is balanced war/diplomat. Israeli people vote for the peace monger but they need a war monger instead.

It is the strangest thing. I work in a office for an online brokerage firm. I have not heard ONE person say one thing about this situation. People are oblivious to whats going on in the world I guess. I will keep my mouth shut and keep Freeping between the reports I write all day. Thank the Good Lord for this excellent source of news.

Did you know you can sign up for one month for $6.95?

This would be an EXCELLENT photo for the inside cover of the consortium's glossy prospectus!

Also, how about Lucite key chains with the logo of the globe from the Antarctic perspective, you know the whole "World Turned Upside" thing. Like when Washington's aide accepted the sword or Cornwallis's aide? Provided a sense of history.
