CNN: Rockets in Hiafia hit behind the Terraces of the Shrine, a BAHÁ'Í FAITH religious site, also a place for tourists.

1st - i think somebody mistook a Fox News alert and thought he heard Damascus 2nd - i don't think the IAF is going to buzz anything in Syria again, there will be real bombs falling

Hezbollah is playing brinksmanship and counting on the Israeli response to be less than effective. In my opinion, Israel could end this whole situation and buy some serious quiet time by launching a determined and effective series of overwhelming attacks on targets (human and otherwise) in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. I don't, however, seen any indication that this is going to happen.

Oh, Iran and Syria will get it too, but the Israeli government has already said that it holds Lebanon responsible for harboring terrorists.

>>>To calm things down Isreal should just say they will level Mecca if one more missle is fired. Brute force is all these people understand. If their holy city is threatened it might have better leverage IMO.>>>

Good idea. Too bad Isreal (or any other nation for that matter) doesn't have the nerve.

Oooops sorry for the misspelling. I was in such a hurry to post I didn't even look up off the keyboard. Here is a corrected version.

OMG - -Looking at a Katyusha Rocket threat map for Israel, Haifa is well beyond its range. What sort of rocket or missile was it? Scud maybe?

All is well. Remain calm.

The three-person delegation sent by the U.N. to urge restraint on all sides have landed in Beruit. They were just on CNN complaining about conditions at the airport. Evidently, the IAF took out the VIP Lounge.

I feel much better now. The "restraint" people are on the scene. Order will be restored after a nice bath and some light wine. sarc:)

Israel is tiny. People here don't understand the short distances involved in these things. I'm thinking Arlington, VA.

Maybe Silver Spring, Maryland.

Hafia is Israel's 3rd largest city behind Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. That's why i said Chicago or LA, If we are talking geographically, i'd agree with Baltimore

It's the third-largest city in Israel, I believe...it's pretty important as a tourist/resort area, and it is the headquarters of the Baha'i faith.
