Yesterday evening the President and Mrs Bush attended a dinner held in honour of Eunice Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics
Today the President presented the budget, visited a shoe factory and also atteneded a fund raiser.
Congratulations to Vice President Dick Cheney on the birth of his 5th grand child who has been named after him.
My mother said have the sense to grow old gracefully. That is not happening with Eunice.
You bet! Well, duh, no wonder they felt coldish!
Interesting. Thirty years ago (I was a math major so this is easy for me - ha) Eunice would have been in her mid-fifties, pretty young for deep wrinkles.
That boating and sun worshiping can do you in. But I bet she had fun.
Sigh-There they are! Boy, were they yummy!
I vaguely recall Brad's Gramma having something to do with it..?
AWESOME PHOTOS . . . The President looks incredible both in his blue tie and in his tux (interacting with the Special Olympics kids) and the Cheney's absolutely radiant with their beautiful new grandson!

Foreign Affairs: Has the Bush administration implicitly acknowledged the failure of its simplistic "cowboy diplomacy"? Time magazine thinks so, but don't take a cover story as gospel.

BUSH JOB APPROVAL EDGES UP TO 40%
President George W. Bush's job approval rating has edged up slightly higher in Gallup's latest poll, and is now at 40% for the first since early February. After averaging 42% approval in January and early February, Bush's ratings began to decline in mid-February, ultimately dropping to his administration's low point of 31% in early May. Since then, Bush's approval ratings have shown a slow, gradual improvement.

RASMUSSEN: PRESIDENT BUSH JOB APPROVAL
July 11, 2006
For the fourth straight day, 43% of Americans Approve of the way that George W. Bush is performing his role as President.
http://rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm
POLL SUMMARY:
Trajectory UP
Gallup
40% approve 55% disapprove
[Excellent! If one were able to re-weight Gallup's skewed sample, the President's actual JA rating would be closer to 50%!! . . . Did USATODAY, et al, give this story front page coverage as they did when the President's JA ratings were supposedly in the low 30s -- of course NOT!]
Rasmussen
43% approve 56% disapprove
[Excellent! If one were able to re-weight Rasmussen's sample, the President's JA rating would be closer to 46% adults//49% likely voters -- EXACTLY where Rasmussen put the President's JA rating immediately before the President won re-election with more votes than any other candidate in history!!]
'nuf said about polls!
**......Snugs started the toaster awards....why, I don't know..lol**
I vaguely recall Brad's Gramma having something to do with it..?
You may be right...let's ask her..
I saw him on tv while I was working out this morning--I love that blue tie! Looks great in the photos tonight, too. :)
Thanks for your work, Deb. I will read the articles in a bit.
13 pounds lost 15 to go :0)
That was a very kind reply to my forgetfulness. :)
YEA...good for you!
Richard Jonathan ... ahem ....
He could use them for golf, no? Go with his plaid pants...(rolling eyes)
Ahhh, YES. Now that you remind me, it WAS Brad's Gramma. You know, she has the most delightful sense of humor. Let's see, it was one of those back and forth teasing things, wasn't it? And Brad's Gramma claimed to have sent the other poster a toaster. Do you remember how BG described the toaster?
Excellent re: your diet. There's no better feelilng than
slimming down and feeling healthy. Good luck with the
last few pounds.
"When I am OLD, I shall wear purple...."
Or whatever the heck I wanna!
She was working for the special olympics back then also. I was working in a small 16 bed childrens nursing home and she came to visit. But I have always remembers her face.
