Yesterday evening the President and Mrs Bush attended a dinner held in honour of Eunice Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics
Today the President presented the budget, visited a shoe factory and also atteneded a fund raiser.
Congratulations to Vice President Dick Cheney on the birth of his 5th grand child who has been named after him.
Darn we would have to be talking about candy! Your last sentence reminded me of another candy I used to like. Believe it or not they were also square, and at one time you could buy them for I think a nickle. Sorry, for the life of me can't think of the name. Anyway, when you'd put them in your mouth they would almost immediately melt even before you'd bite into them. The strange thing about them also was they were almost cold in feel----or at least they were to me. Boy were they good. Last time I saw them they were up to about thirty-five cents each, and they were a not large square either. Definitely quality over quantity.
Do you think the Peruvian president was happy to see GWB?! :) Those pictures made me smile.
Those shoes are gosh-awful, and what a good sport W is for wearing them. I think that's why all the employees are laughing in the picture where he's wearing them.
Those were, I think, a special deal. The factory usually makes shoes that are perfectly acceptable. :-)
Oh I know the candy you wrote of but I can't recall the name either...
Drat!
Really good though.
This is my first- how many have you gotten now?
My parents are thinking i'm nuts- they keep wondering about this toaster thing. How did this tradition start
I don't know...I'll have to go count......Snugs started the toaster awards....why, I don't know..lol
Are you thinking of Ice Cubes? I think that is what they were called. I used to love those!
I feel dumb--I didn't even think of the fact that he is named for his grandfather! I wonder what they will call him.
That be the candy!
:)
Great WWW find.
I am glad I am not alone in my thoughts! He was a very good sport to put them on! :)
The internet is a wonderful thing! :)
Especially for gif searches & old candy searches and for Email & FR!
From the pictures, the Prez seems to have been the rock star in the room during the tribute.
Wonder how much that frosted Teddy?
I was thinking the same thing! I am sure he wasn't thrilled.
ummmm, are you still dieting? Little bit hungry? LOL
Can't wait to see the Prez wear the red, white and blue shoes. They'll look great with jeans. (smile)
Oops, I should have scrolled down. He did wear them. Looked good, too.
I met Eunice in the 70's and she had deep wrinkles at that time. I was shocked by her appearance close up. I think it is the life of sun and boating without any skin protection.
