The answer to the Jewish question is a resounding "no" on Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush - epicenter of a vicious political contest, even by Brooklyn standards.
"Some ethnic groups are trying to control the area," warned Jude Saint-Phard, a 67 year-old construction worker who is black.
"It's a master plan," he added. "It's the same plan that took Downtown Brooklyn from the blacks, that took Park Slope! Once they have the Congressional seat, they are pushing the blacks out of the area."
I ask which groups aim to push blacks from anywhere. Hasidic Jews?
Saint-Phard corrected me.
"Hasidic, non-Hasidic - he is just a Jew!" he said.
This conversation, I'm sorry to say, took place not in 1906, or 1966, but in 2006. As much as we smiled and joked, it turns out - in this man's eyes - we are enemies.
He is far from alone in feeling that way.
The racial and economic fault lines in this city are being walloped by a race for New York's 11th Congressional District, which extends from largely white Brooklyn Heights nearly to the eastern end of the borough.
Trying to win the seat held by retiring Rep. Mjor Owens are three black candidates: state Sen. Carl Andrews, Councilwoman Yvette Clark and Chris Owens, the incumbent's son.
And one white Jew.
The district was created in the 60s to achieve a black voice in Congress. So now, some black pols think it's OK to trash the white candidate, City Councilman David Yassky, for trying to snatch a seat they think belongs to person with black skin.
"Greedy," sneered the Rev. Al Sharpton about Yassky, playing on that old Jewish slur.

Exhibit A might be the rigid racial, ethnic, and gender quota systems that Democrats have maintained for selecting delegates to their national convention ever since the McGovern convention in 1972. Since there is hardly a more important function for a national party than choosing (and supporting) a presidential candidate by these delegates, this is very strong evidence of the Democrats' internal thinking on racial, ethnic, and gender matters. And their general support for racial quotas throughout American society would be Exhibit B.
You can't know if most people of African descent despise Jews. in fact, there are many Jews of African descent.
You said a mouthful. Its also true.
That may be obvious to some, but I think the writer was remiss in not reporting that fact in the story. In the absence of any other evidence, I can't accuse her of covering up that discomforting (for her) fact, but neither can I rule out that possibility.

Dennis Prager had some really good articles on townhall.com about why so many Jewish people vote Democrat and/or dislike Israel.
I don't capitalize either party's name because I do not respect them enough to do so. Same with the senate and senators.
The AAS is on a Leftist political rampage. If your a white dude or a Conservative, there's not a chance!

It's a complicated issue; someone here at FR posted a really wonderful, rational answer to that perplexing question, I wish I still had the link. The Republicans were more anti-semitic years ago; and Jews were afraid of them, especially those who, or whose parents, escaped deadly pogroms in Russia or the butchery in fascist Europe. The Democratic party used to be more welcoming to Jews, and many hold fast to old traditions. Are there conservative Jew haters? Sure..but they don't couch it in fake anti-colonial language i.e. "we are anti-zionist, not anti-Jewish". And I notice at least on Free Republic Jew baiters are zotted if they show too many anti-Jewish hairs on their hides. I have yet to meet an anti-zionist who is not also a Jew hater. I have made it a goal in life to convert as many Jews as possible to conservatism and to point out their best interests are represented by the Republican party. And that fundamentalist Christians are our best and most loyal allies!
Also, the likes of Roy Moore scares Jews away from supporting a party, some of whose members would like them to say prayers to Jesus in the public schools. (I know that very few people actually feel that way, but a few very prominent individuals can set the tone.)
I don't have the link, but I read a survey recently wherein 88 percent of black respondents said they viewed Jews negatively. As a blonde, blue-eyed Jew of mixed parentage who does not resemble any Jewish sterotype, you'd be surprised how many blacks have expressed virulent anti-semitism to me, thinking I was not Jewish. Even more so than whites. Not very empiric evidence, but quite illuminating.
Sadly, this has the ring of truth.

I doubt that the Jews will ever turn. Liberalism is Torah for many of them.

Please-"the Jews" implicates all Jews are libs. You couldn't be more wrong. I know many Jews who are 9/11 Conservatives, myself included and some fairly famous people, too. Some Jews will never turn, but I suspect that most of the die-hards (and they will die hard) are liberals first, Jews last; but many more of us are proud conservatives.
