WASHINGTON - Facing criticism, potential 2008 presidential candidate Joe Biden has been forced to explain his recent remark that "you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent."
On a recent edition of the C-SPAN series "Road to the White House," the Delaware senator is shown shaking hands with a man and boasting about his support among Indian-Americans.
"I've had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking," Biden said.

Which tribe did he insult (out of context)?
I only heard about the 7-11 South Asians remark.
While I don't think his remark was "racist", I do believe the MSM has a huge double standard on this and if a Republican had said anything like this he would be hounded from office. (I'm sick of false "racism" accusations against guilt ridden Whites who are too cowed to stand up for themselves.)
I believe Joe has "defecated in his mess kit"
Good one! There must have been a footnote. Certainly an attribution...Or did the dumb bastard do it again?
Hilarious comment, Joe.
I bet he would have a lot more after spending a few hours on Air India, though. What a night of hell. Hey, it was the cheapest way to get to the UK and part of a package deal.
If he were a GOPer the MSM would have foced him into resignation by now. And had him enrolled in a sensitivity seminar....
Well, the database folks are probably now located in Bombay or Calcutta so they get to handle it.
Indian-Americans are people from India who have immigrated to America or descendent's of people from India who have immigrated to America
American Indians are decedents of the pre Columbus inhabitants of the Americas.
"We did elect one that Plugged anything that moved."
LOL, no kidding. And probably some things that DIDN'T move.
I stayed in a motel in some place out of High Point, NC, managed by Indians or Pakistanis.
Same thing for Colorado City, Texas, out in the middle of nowhere.
They're everywhere.
There's a joke in there somewhere, I think...
(decedent: the person who has died)
As a director, I had no real leverage against employees. It was too much of a hassle to try to get rid of someone. By outsourcing, you had much more control. I thought that having a little bit of the team inside, and some of the labor-intensive parts outside, the company got the best of both worlds. But I hated that crap and am infinitely thankful to have nothing to do with it now.
Biden is a moron.
It's true that Indians run 7-11 and Dunkin Doughnuts stores, but it's the way this jerk said it that wasn't funny, but typically flat.
Biden and Hillary must have takent he same correspondence course on "How To Talk Stupidly."
I hope I made it clear that there's certainly nothing "racist" (I hate that term) about what dummy said.
Also, I don't like Biden. He lied about his education about 20 years ago and inferred that he was the smartest man in the senate.
We all knew that was incorrect. Bobby Byrd holds that honor.
