While North Korea was gearing up to launch a long range missile and five rockets into the Sea of Japan this week, sending a grim message to the entire world, out at Saddleback Church Rick Warren was announcing that he will soon be bringing his message of purpose to North Korea where he reportedly will be addressing an audience of 15,000.
God is using Rick Warren to be a messenger of peace! gushed one Saddleback member. There is great hope in Lake Forest that Rick Warren's message in that stadium will cause Kim Jong II to drop his nuclear purposes and embrace some kinder, gentler ones.
But who exactly will be sitting in that stadium when Mr. Warren steps up to the podium? Given the level of government induced starvation in that country, the average North Korean would be lucky to have the strength to walk to the stadium to hear him in the first place.

Speaking of Prophets....a prophet recently said Kim is history.
God bless you brother. I've not walked streets, but, in fairness, God knows that isn't exactly my strength, and He called me to lead an internet Bible study in 1994, to which I've been faithful for 12 years. I do try to be faithful in tithing, etc, knowing that as in any army there are 10 behind the scenes to put the one up front. And, of course, as discreetly as I can, I use my classroom to advance the Kingdom.
Amen again. If the Lord immediately cut off anyone who ever preached any variation on His gospel, He would have immediately excised Peter when he wouldn't eat with the gentiles. But God knows a man's heart, and He'll take an ounce of submission over a ton of sacrifice. If someone is committed to Him, and even slightly off in doctrine, the Lord can bring him around.
Billy Graham often preached in Communist countries during the COld War. That said, I've always been a Rick Warren skeptic.
:-) Well said!
There is no doubt that Warren has evidence that he's done more to destroy the local church than most.
Praise God! Bless you for your service to the Lord with the Internet Bible study! THAT is very needed and is a good way to serve the Lord. I've been so Blessed to be allowed to lead a lot of people to Christ over the Internet, and I've been given many opportunities to minister to the hurting and the sick. We have had chat rooms where most of them came to because they were hurting and needed prayer. From there, God opened the door, and prepared their hearts for them to accept Jesus and receive Salvation through His shed blood. There are many hurting, sick and lost people everywhere. I'd like to be in your group, if you would FReepmail me the information. Oh, btw, I'm a "sister" and not a brother. LOL I know, it's the nickname. I'm just a chick who likes guns. ;o)
Indeed!
Criticism is the world's way...we are in the world but not of the world!!!
This could have been a hell lot worse. It could have been Rick Wakeman.
***I read the bible once.... Jesus doesn't even show up till the second half. :~)***
Jesus is in the OT as well. Right from the begining.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
And from that point forward, it was about Him
Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Great keyboardist who is a perfect fit in Yes. Not sure he'd sound right with other players.
Actually, that isn't true. This has nothing to do with a personal dispute, it has to do with rescuing people from entering an orchard of poisonous fruit.

I found the first two sentences contradictory and unbelievable. So I didn't bother with the rest.
Seemed a logical assumption that the rest of your sentences would be about as believable and 'edifying.'
AMEN! Thanks for your wise and Biblical comments.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha....spewed the fresh picked blueberries in my mouth all over my monitor. I had a gray one but now it is blue!
My gut feeling is that most of the booming Christianity of China is of that sort I wouldn't give a hoot for.

That was MORE THAN SUFFICIENT for me to voice my perspective.
IF
You cherish BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY AUTHENTICALLY LIVED AS JESUS TAUGHT AND WALKED IT . . .
THEN
The above sentence of yours is WHOLESALE WRONG.
The way people worship this man is stunning.

I rebuke that idea in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Defending from unwarranted UnBiblical attacks--a precioius Biblical Brother bearing MUCH LASTING FRUIT IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD
is
NOT
the same as worshipping him.
Maybe Mr. Warren's just a stooge. Then again, maybe God has something in mind.
The ridiculous whining tone of this article says a lot more about the biases of its author, than it does about Mr. Warren's trip.
