JULY 6--Rush Limbaugh was traveling with four other men--including the producers of the hit show "24"--when he was detained over a mislabeled bottle of Viagra found in his luggage during a Customs search. A Department of Homeland security passenger manifest shows that Limbaugh and his four buddies flew from the Dominican Republic on a Gulfstream IV jet owned by Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates his radio program. Limbaugh returned to Palm Beach, Florida on June 26 with Joel Surnow, "24"'s co-creator and executive producer and Howard Gordon, another of the Fox hit's executive producers (Hollywood agent Jeffrey Benson was also part of the Limbaugh quintet). With all those guys in tow, it is unclear what Limbaugh needed with those 29 100mg Viagra pills. The passenger manifest was among several documents released today by the Palm Beach County State's Attorney in response to a TSG open records request. Included in the material released were a copy of the handwritten statement Limbaugh provided investigators after he was detained upon the discovery of the impotency drug. An affidavit sworn three days later by Limbaugh was also released. In that document, Limbaugh explains that the Viagra "was intended for my exclusive use" and that the drug had been prescribed in the name of his drug treatment doctor, Steven Strumwasser, "to further maintain and protect my privacy." Classic!!!!
They gave Rush's address out. Bad bad bad!
If these are not allowed to be public, then Rush has a good lawsuit to make.
It might be an embarrassment when these activities are occuring in a third-world vacation spot renowned for sex tourism and you happen to be the most famous pontificator of social conservatism.
There seems to be a whole lot of denial on this thread, but I think most folks with half a brain know what kind of vacation this was. How interesting Rush decided to take his Hollywood friends on this all-male trip. This type of vacation is probably not terribly unfamiliar to them.
I don't think I'll ever again be able to listen to Rush rhetorically pander to those in his audience who believe that social conservatism and sexual restraint are vital to the future of society. At least not without chuckling.
Rush had said he forgot it was in the bag. He had it since December and there were 29 pills left out of the prescribed 30.
I think you may be theorizing beyond the evidence. He said on his show that he carries them with him - I theorize (see, we all do it) that it's a little like teenage boys of my generation (and Rush's) used to carry a condom in their wallets: they had as much likelihood of getting a chance to use it as a giraffe did of sprouting wings, but that didn't stop them. I'd prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's actually telling the truth about the reason for his trip rather than buy into a lot of hysteria about exotic sex trips to the Caribbean. As a woman, I can tell you Rush would have NO problem getting a date. Getting married is another thing; but getting a date - easy.
I don't think so, just connecting the dots.

Those teenage boys would have had a much better chance of getting to use their condoms had they been flush with cash and gone on a Dominican vacation.

As a man, I can tell you why these kinds of trips are appealing to many members of my gender, and the reasons mostly have to do with the fact that dating and marriage are not part of the picture.
I was using the term "date" as a euphemism. I don't think Rush has any problem finding a "date" - he's smart, funny, and enthusiastic. To a woman, this is a very attractive combination for a "date," and, really, money has nothing to do with it.
Whatever you say. Have a nice evening.
you mean...SHE not he
But TSG has its favorites they protect. Oliver Stone has been busted twice for drug possession. Where are his police documents and court documents? Where's his mugshot?
They pick who they choose to go after.
does she like photography? snap snap grin grin wink wink. know what I mean? know what I mean?
HIPPA
Florida's Privacy Amendment
Florida's Medical Privacy laws (recently upheld by the FL SC)
You have a point. If Rush wanted to get ugly, he could have a basis for a suit for violation of his civil rights...
You really have no clue.
Complete rubbish. TSG goes for celebs they think people want to read about. The Kennedys have been a popular target.
And just how well is the conservative movment doing in the U.K., btw?
Okay, I've been working nights for the past six months.
Who is Chloe ?
Chloe
Limbaugh has little to do with conservatism, so your question is largely irrelevant. However, it is fair to point out that we don't have as many windbag talk show hosts. O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Springer are an American pheomenon.
