A recent article in the UK Telegraph offered insights into the many ways that Islamists in Baghdad are making life, by increments, miserable for citizens of the city. Ice producers, crucial in helping people survive in Iraqs 115 degree summer heat, have recently suffered several murders from their ranks. The reason: Their product was not available during the time of Mohammed.
Street venders who sell the popular Middle Eastern food falafel have also lost two of their own in the past few weeks, with other venders now closing their stalls. The same reason is offered by the Islamists, namely, that falafels did not exist at the beginning of Islam. Those who laughed off the warnings are now lying in Baghdad cemeteries.
Islamists have also warned Baghdad residents who wear goatees to shave or else. That prohibition, subject to a visit from a vigilante death squad, is due to the fact that goatees originate from a Jewish facial hairstyle. The article states that barbers have been busier than usual, after a 17 year old was murdered the other month for ignoring the no-goatee warning.
Mayonnaise is also in the sights of the self-appointed morality police. Like goatees, mayonnaise has a Jewish connection. Mayonnaise is made in Israel. Therefore, it, too, joins the long list of things haraam, forbidden to Muslims, according to the Islamists playbook. Needless to say, most restaurants are holding the mayonnaise, with or without the customers request.

When Dukes went to 3$ a jar, I tried them all, then moved to Kroger brand mayo. Tastes the most like Dukes (to me)
Had a hard time convincing the family, though....
I think the best line I read from an Iraqi who is tired of being hassled by the zealots about things that weren't around at the time of Muhammad, was his desire to remind them that the AK-47's they threaten people with weren't around back then either.
Hypocrites.
ROFLMAO !!!
Alot of Victoria Secret comes from Israel too. May explain the Burkas.
Aaahh, that explains the toilet paper thing .......
No, they are.
ALOUETTE'S FALAFEL
1 c. dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
1 medium onion
3 garlic cloves
1 jalapeno pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. ground coriander
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. fresh chopped parsley
1 Tbsp. fresh chopped cilantro
4 Tbsp. bread crumbs
4 Tbsp. water
Vegetable oil for frying
Grind chickpeas, garlic, onion and jalapeno in food processor. Mix in bowl with remaining ingredients. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Heat the oil in a wide saucepan or wok. Drop falafel balls by the teaspoon-full into boiling oil, fry until brown. You can add a jalapeno to the fry oil.
Serve in pita with hummus, tehina, tomato & cucumber, harissa.
Waiting for Muslims to declare that pita, hummus, tehina, tomato, cucumber and harissa are haraam
Personally, could never tell the difference, unless the jar was about 6 months old. The mayo always 'stood out' from the immitation at that point.
And with 116 degrees in Baghdad, mayo is probably not the best choice.
Without traveling far you could make it in just about any time of the year.
The recipe is simple ~ first prepare a large shallow pool. Fill it with water to the depth of half an inch or so.
Make sure you do this in a very dry part of the world that has exceedingly clear skies, e.g. Iran, Iraq, Saudi, most of North Africa, etc.
In the morning, just before dawn, when everything is at it's coldest, soop up ice crystals from the top of the pool of water.
Place them in an insulated container and protect them from the Sun.
The secret here is that the heat in the water will radiate through the clear atmosphere out into space. For much of the year this will allow a degree of cooling sufficient to produce ice on the surface.
Folks in more Northerly climates, e.g. Anatolia, or up in the mountains, would save winter ice in springhouses.
BTW, having read through several translations of the Koran and having consulted with several highly educated mullahs, I find nothing that says that ice is forbidden to Moslems. The idea that something that didn't exist in Mohammad's day is prohibited is simply BS concocted on the spot for the purpose of killing people or stealing their businesses. It's a "con".
Got beef hot dogs? ping. . .
I copied your recipe, I hope that its ok- that sounds yummy!
I am a vegetarian, and always look to find new things to make.
Yeah, tomatos prob arent *muslim* enough, lol
Mayo is basically eggs and oil.
We Jews have all kinds of crazy laws about what is and isn't kosher for Passover. Like, "if the Hebrews didn't have it during the exodus from Egypt, it's not kosher."
Well, they had chickens, so therefore they had eggs, and they had oil, because the Bible mentions oil.
So therefore, mayo is kosher for Passover.
Yipeeee.
Heavy on the Mayo!
They can have the whip, but no miracles. Mohammed, the false prophet never performed miracles.
I can guarantee that it is great!
It sounds really good!
I promise not to add mayo, lol
You have just described the origins of Islam.
But they sure as hell didn't have a ham sandwich to put it on.
Must have been Chicken Salad. ;~))
Doesn't mean you won't find Moslems who use their interpretations of the Koran as an excuse to kill of course.
I get your point but lets be more specific... THEY were not around when Mohammad created Islam, so THEY should go ahead and remove themselves.
