Kolbe says time not right to push gay immigration rights
Gay GOP congressman is in bi-national relationship By JOSHUA LYNSEN | Jul 6, 12:38 AM
Retiring gay Congressman Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.), who is involved in a bi-national relationship, said in an interview this week that he isn't pushing gay issues in the ongoing immigration battle on Capitol Hill because it would only add "baggage" to the debate.
"The immigration debate is so heavily laden and so fraught with so many issues that adding one like this into it is not terribly practical," said Kolbe, one of the leading congressional Republicans setting immigration policy. "It adds baggage. It doesn't help the debate."
Kolbe, who is in a relationship with a man from Panama in the United States on a temporary visa, said that opponents of allowing gay Americans to sponsor their foreign partners for immigration purposes argue against any federal legal recognition of gay couples. Kolbe declined to identify his partner.
To counter that argument, Kolbe said everyone who supports the Uniting Americans Families Act, which would allow bi-national couples to permanently live together in the United States, must call on Congress to act.
"There aren't enough people who know about this problem," said Kolbe, who has announced he will retire at the end of his current term. "It's a matter of making more people aware of it."

Oh my! This admission explains a great deal about Kolbe's atrocious voting record on immigration (pro-amnesty, anti-security, etc). It is shocking that a sitting Congressman is having a gay relationship with a foreign national. That he's a Republican is a stain on the party. The tent is a little too big when you let scumbags like Kolbe in. Now, will local or mainstream media even report this story? I doubt it.

You read gay websites, Spiff? Or just look at the pictures? "Homosexual news" tends to be heralded most and sometimes exclusively only on homosexual themed websites...
The saying "know your enemies" would most likely apply in this case...

You read Stormfront? That's where all the white supremacist news is and, it seems to me, they'd be considered enemies too.

"gay immigration rights"?
Groan.
What is this country coming to?
Another very strong reason to make sure that gay marriage doesn't become legal in this country.
We have too many gay people in San Francisco already, and look how San Francisco is screwed up.

Keep up the good work, Spiff. You post factual information and voting records that those who have opposing viewpoints are usually unable to refute in a logical manner.

This is pathetic. And Sinkspur, instead of trashing Kolbe and all the degenerate things he stands for, trashes the guy who posted the article.
Maybe this hits a little too close to home for the "spur sinker".
