A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Rusty is a beautiful dog. His coat is so shiny and he has such intelligent eyes! He actually looks like he knows what he is doing sitting there at the computer. LOL

Glad to hear this, Mama Bear - we just got the movie on Netflix.

Isn't Netflix great? We just finished watching every episode of all four seasons of "24". Absolutely riveting! Now we can get back to watching movies again....until season 5 is released.

We were going to do that, but missed the first shows and don't want to start in the middle. I am hoping when they are finished rerunning it they will release the DVDs. Do you how many hours have passed at this point? If we aren't too far behind we might try to catch up.

Thanks.....guess I will wait for the DVDs. Besides, it is kinda nice to watch a "calm" movie for a change. Watching four seasons of "24" back to back was a little intense. LOL

Yes - it would be hard to take all at once. The favorite thing that I've gotten of Netflix is the British TV drama - "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" that was on PBS in the early '80's. Unlike most of the PBS stuff - it was never recycled or offered as a VHS or DVD by PBS. Alec Guiness in a stellar role.

Oh, Lori, we watched that a couple of weeks ago, and I still get emotional thinking about those dogs and how incredibly smart they are! Of course it was somewhat predictable, but we wouldn't want a Disney movie any other way, would we? :)

I cried buckets of tears - ANY animal movie does that to me though. :)

"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy"

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out. I think I will also add "Keeping up Appearances" and "Waiting for God" to my queue. I love British humor.

Sure wouldn't.

I have got to tell you what JK's reaction to the movie was....he had no idea what the story was about, so when it became obvious that the dogs were going to have to be left he said....."oh, no.....no way.....they are NOT leaving those dogs down there, because if they ARE, I am NOT watching this movie!" LOL. I had to convince him to keep watching and reminded him that it was a Disney movie. How bad could it be? He did end up watching it all the way through and enjoyed it for the most part. He's just an ol' animal lover softy like me. LOL.

Am just not ready to deal with it. :o( But this is just another part of life right????

Yes, it is. But it is very, very hard. I know what you are going through.

I kept trying to tell myself that we are so very fortunate to have the resources to be able to have his mother in an excellent care facility and kept thinking how much more difficult it would be if we didn't have the resources. Of course, it made it much easier for us because JK's mom really didn't want to go back home again after her fall. It was her idea to move to Twin Oaks. That makes all the difference.

Sistah, I pray that God will guide you gently through the days ahead and the decisions that have to be made.
