As we celebrate the 230th birthday of the United States of America, our president joined the ideological, and perhaps biological, descendants of those who fought to give us our freedom by creating this new nation. The president went to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, to speak to and eat with the troops and their families (who gave him a birthday cake).
He will return to the White House for a July 4th celebration with family and friends. That will also serve as a birthday party for the President.

Here's my favorite pic Gretchen (and thanks for all the great pictures - they have me crying in my root beer today - seeing how brave they are). This pic tells me he loves them like his own children:

I think he looks like a little kid in the first photo of him holding his birthday cake. =)He does.
He has such kind eyes... it's so obvious that he's a good man.

I get the feeling that underneath that smile there lurks a man I would NOT want to face as an enemy combatant.

Note how perfectly his shirt color compliments the soldiers' uniforms. Makes for great pictures. they did that for his speech in New Orleans where his shirt was exactly the color of the church in the background. Must be someone's job to get those shirts. How astute! I never noticed that.
Wonder who chooses his "shirt of the day?"

Out West, in my corner (literally lol) of the US, our churches don't ever ring their bells, if they even have them. It would have been a great thing to hear if they did.
God BLESS our country! I love her so.

How are you? Didn't we discuss embarassing our teenagers, a long, long time ago? Last night I managed to "completely ruin" my 14-year-old sons life, "For the next five months."
What have you been up to lately?

Do you think Kerry and the others will EVER, EVER get it? I don't know but it surely would be great for the USA if they DID before they leave office.

Socialism cannot survive with free citizens and the quality of our military of today.

Think back on how Clinton hated the military = and how they despised him right back...
They love this man - they trust him.
It was a sad time for our military when they had such a despicable POS as their commander. They were bailing out in droves.

Must be something wrong with my monitor - it's kinda blurry at the moment.
Great pix and many thanks. It is a little ironic how comfortable Bush always looks with the troops and how the junior Senator from Massachusetts whose name I can't remember at the moment always looks stiff as a dimestore manikin. The reason, I think, is that only the former is a genuine human being.
To: CyberAnt
I can see why you love it. Do you recall when / where it was taken? It's a beauty.
The one from today where he was reaching his hand out toward the troops' outstretched hands -- it felt like his spirit was going out from him to them before he could get out there to shake their hands -- it was like a mantle of his love for them was going forward to reach them.
I can't remember a US president whose love for the troops was so strong and so visible.

Yeah, I remember. Clinton's dislike made him act in total disrespect of the military - but he demanded respect from them. Clinton really was and continues to be a POS.
