Why Is the World Deaf to Gaza's Cries? (Barf Alert?)
Aljazeerah, Arab News ^ | 07/04/2006 | Linda Heard

How much longer must the Palestinian people be bombed, starved, humiliated and abused before the international community speaks up with one voice? How much longer will world leaders avert their eyes from the cruel way Israel is pursuing a land grab? How much longer will ordinary people prefer the World Cup and blissful ignorance to the facts of Israel’s crimes and their effects on an entire people?

The US and the EU have labeled the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority “terrorist”, a move that has virtually given the Israeli government carte blanche to do its worst. George W. Bush says Israel has the right to defend itself even as it works to deliberately terrorize a civilian population. The proof of intent is Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s instruction to the IDF last Sunday: “I don’t want anyone to sleep tonight in Gaza”.

Almost 50 percent of Gaza’s 1.5 billion residents are without electricity at a time when temperatures are hitting the mid-30s. Israel saw fit to bomb a major power station, in blatant contravention of the Geneva Conventions, during an operation sadistically titled “Operation Summer Rain”.

Experts say it may take up to eight months to restore power during which time hospital patients will die, families will be left without air-conditioners, fans, refrigerators and televisions, office workers and students without essential computers.

Those of us who live in this region and who have experienced...

...These aggressive acts are surely shameful when the Palestinian people were encouraged by all and sundry to embrace democracy, which they proudly did, little knowing they would be judged and punished for their choice.

I thought this was an interesting bit of propaganda being fed the Arab street. Embracing democracy comes with a responsibility...

Mostly because the majority of cries have been limited to the Palestinian equivalent of "Hey y'all, watch this!" before some @ssclown pali blows itself up in a crowd of innocent women and children.

Even the friends of the palis are silently thanking Israel for playing "The Orkin Man" in this episode.

It may be what's being fed to the Arab street but our moonbat left eats it up willingly.

Excuse me, but didn't Hamas, ie the Palestinian gov't, FIRST kidnap an Israeli soldier? End of argument...

The real question is how much longer will the world put up with these murderous, conniving thugs before granting these people the death wish they keep asking for.

They have turned down every chance for peace that was ever offered and answered by killing civilians piecemeal and then threatening hospitals and children.

Probably because they're not only ungrateful for all the financial help they've been given, they danced on 9-11, and seem to revel in the tragedies of others, while their only contribution to the planet earth has been in the area of terrorism.

Hey, Palestinians--maybe if you didn't act like a nation of ungrateful brats who laugh when someone else is blown up, and then expects the world to cry when you stub a toe, things might not be this way. But you made your own damned bed, so tough ****.

Well, for starters, when given an opportunity to embrace democracy, don't hire terrorists for your leaders. Second, don't dig a tunnel, come up behind Israeli soldiers, bump a couple of them off, and then kidnap one young soldier. Third, don't kidnap and bump off another young Israeli kid just for the heck of it. Fourth, you wouldn't have women and "children" in Israeli jails if they didn't do some terrorist deed to end up in there in the first place. Fifth, give the kidnapped soldier back to Israel and all of the bombing, sonic booms, occupation, etc. will stop; it's as simple as that.

Sixth, stop whining and playing the victim. It's most unattractive. Seventh, stop blaming Israel for all of your woes, and look in the mirror instead to see who is the cause of all of your grief. You are the ones that voted Hamas in, and you knew who you were voting for. Eighth, maybe one day soon Israel will make a parking lot out of "Palestine" and put you and them out of misery. One can always hope.

Israel LEFT the Gaza strip--would have left it alone--but palis don't want peace, they want to kill and be killed. Sort of a national "suicide by cop."

With that kind of population explosion, you'd think the Palestinian men would be too busy or exhausted to commit acts of terrorism.

They behave like a collection of brats who aren't interested in doing what needs to be done for their present and their childrens' futures, but more about "getting their props and not being dissed".

It's like a nation of punk street thugs, who cry whenever someone pushes back, and then they wonder why no one likes them.

I say we let Israel bomb the area until they are out of munitions. After that, the international community can speak with one voice and say, "Wanna buy some more?"

Yes, they don't think it's fair that Israel refuses to be their victim....

Frankly, I have nothing but contempt for pali pain.

I, for one, hope the Israelis bomb these savages back to the stone age....oh, wait...they are ALREADY stone agers!

There is a funny, funny VW ad on the internet that shows a homicide bomber pulling up outside a restaurant and detonating the bomb while still in the car. There is a big "boomp" as the bomb goes off that only takes out the bomber and the inside of the car. It's supposed to show how well made the car is- sort of like the old ads where they would float a VW to show how solid it is- You will NEVER see this ad on American TV, but I have to tell you, it is one of the funniest ads I have EVER seen.

No. The world is just tired of thier crap.

Israel is there.

The Palestinians just have to get used to it and STFU and get on with their own lives.

If they put all that kill thyself as well as your neighbor stuff aside, they just might build a society of their own.

The chances of that happening, slightly less than zero.

How much longer?

How about until the Palestinian people wake up and join the human race?

Act like a mad dog? Expect to be treated like a mad dog.

Could it be because you elected leaders that want war with Israel - and you got them both?

oh, please....if Israel had already gone in and "done its worst", do you really think you would be around to whine about the injustices to the poor, poor Palestinians?
