The President and First Lady spent the weekend at Camp David returning to the White House on Sunday.

Today the President signed H.R. 5403, the Safe and Timely Interstate Placement of Foster Children Act of 2006

The Vice President had a busy Saturday. First he had a sucessful annual physical, then he and his wife Lynne along with their 3 grandaughters went to Kennedy Space Center for the launch of Discovery which unfortunately due to bad weather did not take-off. They then went to Daytona Beach for the Pepsi 400.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

I do not know the way Mary was talking about it in her recent TV interviews I assumed maybe wrongly that it was fairly early in the pregnancy.

I loved this photo of Tony Snow from the other day before the Graceland visit

White House Press Secretary Tony Snow wears Elvis style sunglasses as he speaks to reporters on board Air Force One taking President Bush and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to Memphis, Tenn. where they will visit Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, Friday, June 30, 2006

WWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the very thought of DeLay attending the Foster Child bill.

Tom DeLay and his wife are two people who have walked the walk of the righteous.

Hi snugs, thanks for tonight's Dose!

Independence Day remains meaningful since the UK is such a staunch ally in modern times. These are ties that cannot be broken, even though governmental ties may be.

Thanks, snugs ... hope you and Dad are well. Somehow, I'm not surprised at the Dose pix today .. ;).

Bump to that, Tx. I'm very happy to see Delay there for this signing .. it's a good thing. I'll be surprised if his immense leadership skills aren't utilized to keep the team together and strong.

Wondering if anyone saw the heartwarming Dateline feature last night about the US couple who first adopted baby twins from Russia, then went back 5 years later to adopt their abandoned 4 brothers and sisters. It was wonderful.

We just don't hear much about these things, as the MSM is so completely focused on controversy, but the White House has recently sent several nominations to the Senate for confirmation here and here and judicial nominations here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan has sent Pres. Bush super flowery greetings on the occasion of our Independence Day.
"President General Pervez Musharraf has extended greetings to President United States of America George W. Bush on the independence day of USA falling on July 4.
President Musharraf in his message said, “I take immense pleasure in conveying our warmest felicitations on the happy occasion of the independence day of the United States of America.”
He said Pakistan and the United States are long-standing friends and allies in the cause of peace, stability and development.
Musharraf said the affirmation of the Pakistan-U.S. strategic partnership during the visit of President Bush to Islamabad this March has furthered progress towards a broad-based, long-term and sustainable relationship.
He said with a stronger institutional basis, the multifaceted cooperation keeps on growing in diverse fields.
President Musharraf said, “Our relationship continues to flourish to the mutual benefit of our two nations and serves as a factor of stability that the regional and international levels.”
He said, “I have no doubt that our friendly and cooperative ties would deepen event further in the years ahead.” And he goes on further .....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tony Snow also reported that the Bush Administration plans planned to sell Pakistan up to 36 advanced F-16 fighter jets built by Lockheed Martin Corp. in a weapons package that could be worth more than $5 billion.

The proposed sale of 18 new "Fighting Falcon" fighters with an option for 18 more demonstrates the United States' commitment to a long-term relationship with Pakistan, White House spokesman Tony Snow told reporters.

Thanks for the Dose, Snugs.

I am glad to be looking at it tonight at home after being away for 10 days or so. One of these days soon I will post a couple pictures and a report from our trip to D.C. (unfortunately no pics of GWB, the VP--or even a motorcade!). :) I also have to tell everyone about misinformation we heard from a tour guide regarding GWB--and the reason I knew he was wrong was because of the Dose! I plan to contact the tour agency so that I can set the record straight. Must continue unpacking. Thank you for your work!
