King George of America, this letter is for you

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands that connected them with another, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The history of the present King George of America is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.

To prove this, let Facts about the excesses of King George of America be submitted to a candid world:

s He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. By use of a device called the "signing statement," he has placed himself above more than 750 laws enacted since he became king, including the anti-torture law passed by Congress to correct a most grievous wrong.

Well, this proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Ms. Quinn does NOT understand the events leading to the original Declaration of Indepence, if she thinks there is ANY corollary to current events.

How quickly we forget the past. Where ATF agents killed over 70 people. Where FBI invaded a home in Florida to give Castro back a child who legitimately belonged here.
A present that sold China secret Technology through Mr. Johnny Chung.
Then they have the nerve to call a man who was duly elected by the people as King ? Or, to claim that the president is a false president? No Way.
This person apparently didn't live through WWII. Where there was censorship of letters. Confiscation of shortwave radios. Rationing of basic foods, clothes and gasoline.
Speaking of a King who would have served twelve years in the White House he had lived.
Wake up. You are wrong and you know it.

I have been reading this hag's rants in the local rag for years. Every time a new one is published I have considered posting it on FR to elicit exactly this kind of response.

The only thing I regret is that the number of views on FR probably far exceeds the number of people who would have otherwise read her column.

Oh well, it's a slow work day, so enjoy yourselves and have at her!

Ironically, the figure on the Daily Mirror cover is almost exactly the total number of votes cast for Jean-Francois in 2004 (although that probably includes a couple of million votes cast by proxy on behalf of non-respitatory Americans).

You're right. I was going to point it out, but given that she wrote the article as a Declaration of Ignorance, I let it pass. But there's no overlooking President Bush's Machiavellian brilliance in giving the Democrats exactly what they wanted. Don't like Miguel Estrada? No problem. I give you, ladies and gentlemen (you claim), the One that you previously approved UNANIMOUSLY. Of course, in our dumbocracy, you are now free to vote against him. It's not as if the dummycrats who elected you will pose any questions at all to you, so knock yourselves out. Show your colors to you colleagues. Color my Harvard MBA ignorant Texan behind wholly unimpressed. Good luck.

We owe this President a debt of gratitude for many things, and we should, I believe, rejoice in his choice of John Roberts and Samuel Alito (whose son, Philip, is an occasional contributor to The Conservative Chronicle).

The London Daily Mirror (sigh).

I followed the election of 1945, in Gt Britain. The Daily Mirror and it's affiliate, the Sunday Pictorial, mounted a "hymn of hate" against Winston Churchill's "Tories".

They published a cartoon of a poor desperate housewife, scrubbing floors. They equated Churchill with the old depression day Conservatives. Churchill was a maverick,not one of them. The records show, while workers should keep "their place", he WANTED full employment.

The Mirror lied. A real smear job. Churchill went down to defeat. Six years later, he was elected (1951). There were jobs,jobs and more jobs.

The Daily Mirror- Orwell's nightmare come true.

If it wasn't for this president a LOT OF US WOULD BE DEAD THIS HOLIDAY. hatred for this man has caused them to lie about 911 and act like a bunch of fools ! Trust me George Soros and his gang would never sign a document when their money and t lives would be in danger!What was the founding fathers said ?We will all hang together or we will hang seperate. No lib would ever beleive in that. When is Soros going back to the countries he is wanted in to stand trial for insider trading. As I can recall Putin does not like that man. I wish King George of England was like George W Bush a lot of lives would have been spared in the revolution. Never talk the revolution to Betsy Ross 1776.

Well done, sir. I would note with disapproval only your closing salutation as "Servant". While such respectful form of Address is, to all present indicative of fine Manners and Breeding, it is nonetheless wholly inappropriate when invoked for a member of the Press, to whom no man or Governor ought to think himself a Servant. It is entirely one thing to recognize and repect the Freedoms our Constitution bestows upon the ink-stained Wretches who dwell in the shadows; it is another to further conflate their already enlarged sense of Self-worth.
