PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: After an eventful week capped by their visit to Graceland, the President and First Lady spend a quiet Saturday at Camp David. They returned to the White House earlier today.
During her press preview last Thursday of the Official Dinner for the Japanese Prime Minister, Mrs. Bush had some interesting and fun things to say. Here's an excerpt. Go here to read the entire transcript.
Q Mrs. Bush, could talk about the decision to have a state dinner tonight? This has become rare in this administration.MRS. BUSH: Well, I wouldn't say it's really rare. We've hosted nine or 10 state leaders at Camp David. We've hosted at least 10 state leaders, including Prime Minister Koizumi, at the ranch. Those have been opportunities to get to know world leaders in a more relaxed and private setting, especially at the ranch, where it's our own home and they can see what our life is like. We have had a number of state dinners, but this one is not actually a state dinner, because the head of state, of course, would be the Emperor of Japan. But this is an official dinner, just like a state dinner, for a Prime Minister.
And we're thrilled to have the opportunity to host Prime Minister Koizumi. We actually had scheduled a state dinner earlier for him. I don't know if we'd announced it, but we'd scheduled it before he called for the last elections, his last elections.
So anyway, now we're glad to get to have him. And as it turned out, the weather was perfect. We were afraid it would be really too hot for the arrival ceremony in June in Washington, but it was just right.
Q Mrs. Bush, could you talk a little bit about the jukebox that the President presented to the Prime Minister, and his reaction?
MRS. BUSH: Well, we have -- we found a really great jukebox from the '50s -- refurbished, obviously, and filled with 45 songs, including 25 of Elvis Presley's. So it was in the Red Room when we came in from the arrival ceremony this morning. And Prime Minister Koizumi searched the keys and found, "I want you, need you, and love you," and played that first. (Laughter.) So he and the President sang a duet. (Laughter.)
Yes, that's about the right time for girls to begin noticing boys.
Well, typically kids start first grade here at about 6-going-on-7, depending on when their birthday falls in relationship to the first day of the school year. So let's say she was 6 when she started first grade. She was in 4th last year. That would make her around 11 this year.
I am sure she is older than that and the article was March so dependant upon her birthday she might be upper end of 12 by now.
I will do a bit of digging

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR. H! :)
Well, everyone, it's nearly 5:00pm here. Time to get some errands done.
I went to my local Toyota dealer yesterday and picked out a 2006 Corolla. Here he is, sexy and sleek as can be. I get to pick him up next weekend.
The only question is, what do I call him. I thought of everything from Doughboy to Powderpuff to Snow Ball or Willy Vanilly. I'm not sure I'm stuck on any of them. At the moment, I'm leaning toward George. (I'll bet you can't guess why)
Any ideas?
Rolly
Hello everyone!
How are you all? It's hot here in NE, but we got some rain last night and there's a chance of thunderstorms tonight; we can use every drop of rain we get.
Thanks! His b-day isn't till the 6th but we celebrated last night as we had a lot of out-of-town guests. He shares his b-day with the President!
Hi! I'm fine...& you & yours? Fine, I trust.
Will pray you get some much needed rain there.
Thanks fir your greeting ping!
TC
So neat that your hubby & The have the same Birthdate.
20 years apart.
H B from me!
We're fine, thanks, just tired.
Thanks for the prayers for rain! The "old timers" around here say the drought will break in July and they're right more often than wrong . . . I'm still praying--LOL! They have all kinds of predictors around here; if it's foggy on a certain day, it will freeze before a certain date, etc. (I obviously don't know the details, haha!)
