IMHO Hannity gets those guests because the Republicans are in power who knows who Colmes would get if the Dems heaven forbid were in power.

I personally don't think the NSA surveillance story was a close call. It was news that the government was wiretapping domestic phones without warrants.

I'm afraid I'm missing something here.

Did you mean the government was wiretapping domestic phones making international calls or domestic phones themselves regardless of where calls were made?

Has anybody come up with the name of any US citizen who has demonstrated that his or her phone was tapped without a court warrant?

I don't think that anyone here is truly questioning the press' right under the First Amendment. Just their discretion which seems to be sorely lacking in a time of war.

"Peter, with great power comes great responsibility."

That applies to the government and to the press.

***The "only" reason to release the information was to embarrass the administration by an organization believing exposing the Bush Administration is more important then the information released.***

That is the very reason they printed that story. Just like hiding ALL the good news in the latter pages of the papers.

I tried to find the A section of last week's Austin Un American Ultra Liberal Non Statesman in the recycle bin, but it's not there. There was an article from another major paper. I don't know which city, but the paper's name was The Tribune.

On page A-12 was an article titled something like;

American Living Standards Better Than Ever

I tried to find that article in the online edition and post it on FR, but here in the liberal dunghole of Travis county, the editors decided not to post it to the electronic edition.

I'd bet if that article had been printed in another paper during X42's term, it would have been on page A-1, above the fold. If the title had been "American Living Standards Worst Ever", it would also have been printed on page A-1.

I'm sorry about England's loss too... 40 years is an awful long time.

Are there any other teams you're cheering on at this point?

Don't know if it's still true in NJ but at one time you were given a traffic ticket if you blinked your headlights to let another motorist know there was a police speed trap on the road.

Well the very statement made here proves the Junk Media totally failed in it obligation then. Via hysteria, deliberate misreporting and knowing obfuscation the Junk Media has planted a complete fraudulent impression in the FReeper head. At no time has the US Govt under President Bush wiretapped domestic phones without warrants. That this is what some people THINK the story was about is another illustration of just how completely the Junk Media failed to perform the obligations it CLAIMS it holds. Wonder if we can sue them for Gross Criminal Incompetence and Intentional Malfeasance?

I am secretly gloating at England's loss. A new family from Great Britain moved in across the street from us.

The immediately took down the American Flag that had been flying on the flagpole since 9/11 and replaced it with the flag of England.

I have been pi$$ed off ever since.

Did you get to listen to Paul W. Smith do Rush's show last week.

Outstanding guests, commentary, and outstanding callers too. Good questions, minimum kooks allowed on the air!

Great radio.

Paul W. Smith will be filling in for Rush tomorrow. Listen if you can.

Well, you could become famous and get a Pulitzer if you breached security and got more information than you NEED to know to conduct an operation....

Well, you could be come famous and get a Pulitzer FIRED if you breached security and got more information than you NEED to know to conduct an operation.

It's sad to see the major dead tree and online news organizations get away with this behavior. In my daily operations, I see more and more crackdowns on malicious behavior when dealing with confidential material.

I personally know of two Majors and one Lieutenant Colonel who were discharged for letting "Top Secret" memos laying on their desk in full view of the office staff and/or visitors.

Co-Chairman of the 9/11 Commission Kean said that very few people even in the banking world know about SWIFT and how it works, and almost no one would have had any idea that the US was able to get access to this data.

I am a sophisticated investor and follower of world affairs, nobody I know had ever heard of SWIFT.

Which leads me to a fantastic idea!

As we all know, the DBM just loves polls. Well, I've got a simple polling question that'll destroy the NYT's claim that everybody knew of financial tracking before they published SWIFT's name:

Poll Question: Have you ever heard of SWIFT before it was reported by the NYT?

We all know that it'll be close to 99% of those polled would say no. That in itself should defeat the NYT's argument that they were publishing what is already public knowledge.

IMHO, the NYT may not know it yet, but they are in for a world of grief over this issue.

Thanks, Rodguy911 for this superb post, which illustrates perfectly why this Sunday Talk show thread is the most informative thread on FR.

When it comes to our junkmedia, it's always about trying to help the America hating left in congress.

They have learned nothing from the danrather fiasco and continue on betraying their true mission and reveling in tactics of gutter journalism.

I personally don't think the NSA surveillance story was a close call. It was news that the government was wiretapping domestic phones without warrants.

This not a true statement. The program was not a wiretapping program, it was a phone number connection collecting program. If a known terrorist in Pakistan called someone in Buffalo, they would get the telephone number of the guy in Buffalo and get all the numbers that phone number called. If they needed to listen on the conversations, they would get a warrant to do that so the evidence would hold up in court.

It ought to be simple. If it helps our enemies then it's best left unpublished.

However, our msm considers the President and his administration the enemy.

For that there is no cure, only our constant efforts to hold their feet to the fire.
