I still wonder how Las Vegas can use their commercial that says "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" with a straight face.

Yup. A traitor, a fool, and a anti-American.

Shieffer probably thinks this is a good balance, eh?

See BS wasn't just a slogan about Dan Rather.

Jack Reed says there are rules of war that we have to respect if we are going to ask others to respect them. Ask Bin Laden if he will respect the Geneva Conventions.

Jack Reed says there are rules of war that we have to respect if we are going to ask others to respect them. Ask Bin Laden if he will respect the Geneva Conventions

Does this mean Jack is ready to officially declare war??

As for Bin Laden .. he doesn't respect life .. he'll never respect the rules of the Geneva Conventions

What's this? Russert is actually having a Republican on his show this week?!!

Read the post right above yours. Apparently Russert's on vacation and Mrs. Greenspan is filling in. So Andrea's let one slip in.

All correct about keeping SBFT out of Murtha fight. I tried to check murthalied.com and it is not up yet. I'd like to see a 527 start up to help Irey's campaign. I don't know if this vets4irey.com is a 527. Of course Irey's campaign is not allowed to "coordinate with" any 527, but I think she can dissuade questionable groups from glomming onto her campaign, or she may disavow them. Some groups may start up just to raise funds in her name. (Not that this hasn't happened before). She has to be careful or they bring in Max Cleland and all the other "victims" of the "Rove/SwiftBoat slime machine" and cry about Murtha being attacked for just being honest.
#2 - Raise more $ for Irey
#3 - Don't count on any more juicy sound bites out of Murtha. He is probably muzzled by now. Just harvest his stupidity from here back, and replay it over and over.

I too donated to the SBVFT. My sense is the term "swiftboating" was created by Democrats and the MSM to disparage the SBVFT, Bush, conservatives and Republicans.

They are trying to make it into another term of McCarthyism that they can use to discredit their critics and deminish the effect the SBVFT had on the presidential election. They fail to mention that many of the SBVFT are Democrats, not Republicans. It never was a matter of politics. It was a matter of character and values.

All, however, knew Kerry lied and was truly unfit for command. That was the point in 2004 and will be the point should Kerry decide to run again. As to Murtha, he's just nuts and they are trying anything they can to cover his being crazy. That's hard to do since he keeps opening his mouth and proving his critics are on to something.

Chris mentioned Bill Clinton's 61 approval ratings from Gallup

Wants to know if Hellary Clinton is a clone of Bill

Then he asked if there was an election today if Hill/Bill ran against George W. Bush .. who would win

All the panel said Bush would win

I believe you are spot on with that evaluation Snugs. That was the way I saw it besides the fact that enemies may find that information interesting.

But what was interesting is they not only revealed Republican's homes but a democrat's as well BUT revealing the homes of prominent names like Cheney and Rumsfeld appears to be their main agenda.

The more I read the ruling, and commentary on it, the more of a disaster it really looks to be. I would suggest the advanced years of the justices MIGHT be the problem, but they have younger clerks who know damn well what they're doing...

If the Supreme Court grants Geneva Convention POW status to people who fight "unconventionally", then American forces should be allowed to fight "unconventionally" against those foes.

The first "unconvention" that springs to mind is *Take No Prisoners*

Actually, the Geneva Conventions allows for the execution of people who fight "unconventionally," such as not wearing a uniform with insignia.  They get shot as spies.

Refer all questions about this unintended consequence to the SCOTUS, the Democrats in Congress and International Answer.
