"What's the latest news with North Korea? Is their test missile still ready to go?"

- If little Kim is holding back on launching his big swinging Dong, it's only because of Chinese pressure. I think the US and Japan passed a quiet word to the Chinese to reign in their starving protege or there could be trade repercussions.

The "loose lips" policy should be reminded to all.

"Why should there be a concern for "loose lips" when this was apparently released publicly?"

Prob because it should be reminded in many threads. There are a lot of new people out and about the forum.

Sleep tight tonight. Your Air Force is awake.

Well, I dunno about that. To my way of thinking...any branch of the military which states Peace is our Profession has got to have some.....ummmm..... issues! When I was an army officer, we'd hear that and snicker....Peace may be your profession....but ours is WAR.

WAR is actually an acronym:

We

Are

Ready.

On July 2nd, they arrive. On July 3rd, they strike. On July 4th, we fight back.

DANG. You beat me to this...nice graphic, too.

The order affects NORAD, Vandenburg AFB (CA) and Patrick AFB (FL).

Okay: Patrick AFB is the home of the eastern testing range for missiles and is where NASA conducts prefight tests on it's "products." Vandenburg is a military launch base where they send military satellites into orbit. Bigger stuff than a suborbital ICBM. NORAD of course tracks everything in the skies, including Santa's annual flight.

When my dad's company was contracted to NASA in the 1960's I just about grew up on the eastern testing range. I'll bet I was the only five year old kid to have a top secret security clearance photo ID allowing me to go anyplace with my dad. I still have that pass. THat's how I know about Patrick AFB and that is the sum total of my USAF knowledge. Can anybody connect the dots from here?

I just washed my truck

Great. Now we all die.

This almost makes me wish I were married. I could promise to do anything on the 5th of July. Since we'll all be orbiting cosmic debris. 8>)

10/12/2000: USS Cole; 10/12/2002: Bali bombing. If one goes back, there are dates which seem to coincide (first WTC bombing, first Gulf War), 9/11/01 Attack on USA; 9/11/1948 Death of Muhammed Jinnah (Founder of Pakistan). There are important dates coming up: July 3, 1988 USS Vincennes accidently shoots down Iranian plane. July 4th; 7/7/2005 London bombings. There may be nothing to most of them, but it doesn't hurt to know what anniversaries are approaching.

Thank you for that list. Anniversaries are important. They may not be 100% predictive in the future, but it doesn't hurt to notice when they are coming up.

Excuse me, but if the US is in trouble "I" want to know so I can prepare.

And help prioritize, too! Let's see, should I duct tape the window frames first or collect all the 1911 and AR mags and start loading.

???

Nothing much there. An Air-Sea Rescue unit, some support for the Cape, not much.

They don't predict the future, but the dates often tell us which interests are involved in particular attacks.

Funny how important the anniversary of Waco was in the drive-by media's reporting of the OKC bombing, but none of these anniversaries were even mentioned in their reporting of the other attacks.

But, I digress. This is a different topic for a different thread.
