Zogby interactive is legit -- this is not like the polls where anyone can just participate, you have to be invited and can only vote once

That's what makes a poll not legit. Any legitimate poll must be a random sample not where the participants are invited.

Another plus is the fact that a whole lot of money was spent by the lefties fighting Arnold's ballot props. Many of their coffers are nearly empty.

Please elaborate

The middleground needs to be captured in order to win the battle. You certainly can't count on the California ilk herd, or the out of state dividers. We cater to those faux-conservatives and we'll lose by a landslide.

You can go forward strongly, proud in what you believe and capture the middle by educating them. You don't have to pander.

You don't know how wrong you are! The middleground runs like banshees from the bellows of the ilk herd. The ilk herd knows this and plays to their strength to continues the effort to alienate any from the middleground who may be tempted.

Its conceivable that you're right, though, and if true conservatives could get their message out without the disruption from the extremes, the faux-conservatives, the fifth columnists, the media, et-al, perhaps we could capture the middleground. Your 'education' suggestion doesn't even work at FR.

I see it working here all the time. Of course there are some bone heads who won't change their mind to save their life.

Not sure what you mean by ilk herd.

Very precisely, it is the California Ilk Herd. Those faux-conservatives who would rather vote for a demoncrap than any republican.

When you call people who don't agree with you 'bone heads', you don't exactly endure them to you. This is one of the ilk herd's tactics.

I didn't do anything of the sort. I was referring to those who are wrong on issues where the majority has set an answer.

There are absolutes in life and Bush's(for instance) popularity is highest when he doesn't play to the center.

Read carefully and slowly: I didn't accuse you. The 'you' I used was generic and regally intended. I can't remember one post you've made, so, heretofore, you hadn't set off my radar.

Where, and who is wrong, as 'the majority sets and issue' is a demoncrap statement, a corruption of demoncracy.

I guess it's time for a reminder of CA Demographics.

CALIFORNIA VOTER AND PARTY PROFILES

http://www.ppic.org/content/pubs/JTF_VoterProfilesJTF.pdf

"The Democratic Party currently has an advantage of 1.4 million voters over the Republican Party (7.1 million to 5.7 million) or 9 percentage points (43% to 34%), according to the Secretary of State.

Among those most likely to vote in this year’s elections, Democrats outnumber Republicans by a 7-point margin (44% to 37%), while 15 percent of likely voters are registered as independents.

... the fact that independents are more likely to lean toward Democrats than Republicans (42% to 28%) tends to work to the disadvantage of the GOP in statewide elections."

He is a loyal, legitimate Republican

Then why has he not packed his office with Republican staff and Republican appointment the way other Republican Governors have done including Wilson the RINO?

Why is he not endorsing the ENTIRE GOP ticket the way all other Republican nominees do?

I think he is a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, he wants to advance his agenda but has to play a delicate balancing act to stay in office.

I think the California Republicans are in a slow rebuilding phase and we need a lot of finesse right now.

My big dream is that through Arnold, McClintock and a small vanguard of conservatives can slip back into the political equation out here.

Arnold is a moderate, but I don't think he is one of those back stabbing, conservative hating, rhinos of which we can all name a few.

We can all imagine that McCain could turn against us, but I think Arnold would never do that.

"...we could do worse than having Arnold as our "Face" here in this particular market."

You have GOT to be kidding! How could you miss all the rotten "egg" he's put all over our "Face?"

Yeah... He's given Cauleeforneeuns a real "facial," alright! Sheeeesh!!!

Wait till we have to face all the bondage debt payments and are forced to raise taxes to cover the debt service in the future which will rob revenue from any other worthwhile endeavor!

I cannot believe how short sighted so many people on FR are becoming around this celebrity swooning over Schwartzenegger the shifting slimer. He shifts and a whole buncha silly sichophants around here just shift right to the left, right with him!!!

Hey! Public life is a wonderful thing. Electeds can't be personally sued for what they say in the course of their official duties, but they can't get away with physical violence, either in law court, or in the court of public opinion!!!

So your wisecrack causes me no concern whatsoever!!! Have a Grand Old (time in your) Party with NO platform in CA!!! When ya gonna "wizard" back to some kind of Party standards again? Ever??? Phhhhhhhhhhht!!! (hows things behind that curtain? Hmmmmmmmmmmm???)

Sorry, but I can imagine worse, I remember Gray Davis and Jerry Brown, and the recent Democrat candidates are far to the left of them.

Until we can get a conservative in that office, we could do a lot worse than Arnold.
