Seven Marines, One Sailor Charged With Murder in Iraqi Civilian Death at Hamdaniya
Thursday, June 22, 2006
WASHINGTON — Seven Marines and a Navy corpsman were charged Wednesday with premeditated murder in the shooting death of an Iraqi man who was pulled from his home and shot while U.S. troops hunted for insurgents. They could face the death penalty if convicted.

All eight also were charged with kidnapping. Other charges include conspiracy, larceny and providing false official statements.

Col. Stewart Navarre, chief of staff for Marine Corps Installations West, announced the charges at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base, where the eight are being held. The troops are members of the Pendleton-based 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines Regiment.

Thank you so much for this report..it makes me feel much better, that they are being treated better than we had heard.

I just pray that they get good lawyers..and in 4-5 months will be acquited of any crime.

Somehow, it needs to get out that Kennedy, Kerry and Delahunt "refused" to help a Marine in trouble...without proof of any guilt.

I guess the Murtha virus has spread to others...assume the worst..and harm more than help.

They shouldn't be in prison in the first place.

"Inasmuch as Ted is on the terrorists' and evildoers' side, that's probably a fair statement."

I think the Senator was probably citing as conflict the concern he has had for years that anyone who has committed murder should be punished, and justly, ASAP.

BWA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA...sorry, couldn't hold that in.

Contact was made with the local Federal and State representatives: JOHN KERRY, TED KENNEDY and Delahunt. The responses were appalling. Senator Ted Kennedy's response stated that he cannot get involved with seeing the families best interests regarding their son due to a CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Sen John Kerry refused to reply to the family either through the phone or mail system.

Ping...

"Sen John Kerry refused to reply to the family either through the phone or mail system."

REMEMBER THIS. When these Marines are acquitted, the Swift Vets will have nothing on this family if Kerry runs in 08.

John Kerry never saw a soldier he wouldn't sell out for politics.

Sen John Kerry refused to reply to the family either through the phone or mail system. Rep. Delahunt did not honor the family with any personal contact but instead had his son reply; and asked if

What conflict of interest??

And before I lose my temper anymore .. is it normal not to receive help from one's elected officials ???

Thanks so much for this info. I am appalled at Teddys "conflict of interest " comment. What the heck could that mean huh? One shudders to guess! God bless these brave soldiers!

No suprise that Kerry would have his head so far up his tush that he'd overlook the families and everyone else who didn't contribute six figures to his last campaign.

But Kennedy's Conflict of Interest? He's officially on the side of the accusing Iraqis? Is this actionable? Someone call a lawyer.
