The Blue Angels are in town, and it looks like Must Be McCuddy flew with them. Watch Fox (9:30ish). They're flying over our great bay...in Northern Michigan. They've been practicing all week, which means we've all been driving slow (so we can stick our heads out the car windows and watch) and doing a lot of looking up!
After today's airshow, I'll try to post pics. (Can you tell we LOVE the Blue Angels?!)

Bill did a big feature on the Cherry Festival, and said the footage of him flying with them will air "at the end of the show", so I guess that means right before 10.
Because of those damn terrorists, the airport no longer lets us all swarm over the planes (oh, and the pilots, too:). Now it's by ticket only, and I bet they do security checks on the ticket holders.

I live a couple of miles north of the Air Force Academy and have the pleasure of seeing them every year when they practice/perform for AFA's graduation. Oh and the best part, I get to sit on my deck and watch them!!!

I remember growing up, and watching both the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels. Nothing in the world like it!

Lucky bum! We'll be on the beach, with about 100,000 others (yes, all those 0's are correct) watching them. They come almost every 2 years, and we usually watch from outside of town, but this year we've got this charming little 3yr old future flyboy who must see and HEAR them up close and personal. I feel it's my duty to introduce him, like I did for his father, to the wonderful world of kick-ass flying!

McCuddy=another useless, worthless FOX employee. That makes at least two on F&F Weekend.

I remember the first time we saw the Blue Angels, it was summer of '04. We were living in NAS Oceana base housing so they were practicing in formation right over our complex. Didn't get to see their actual show that year cause the kids were starting to get cranky by the time it was the Angels turn in the show lineup. Did finally get to see the Blue Angels this past summer here at NAS Brunswick. My husband even got to take a ride in their C-130 'Fat Albert'.
Have a great time at the show!

The Thunderbirds fly over the AF Academy as they are the Air Force's precision team. The Blue Angels belong to the Navy. Both teams are exceptional and anyone even close to one of their performances should go see them.

Correct. Blue Angels are Navy.
In the 40's and 50's the Blue Angels would perform in Corpus Christi in Mustangs. Prop jobs! Much closer than the jets. In fact they first thought the Blue Angels would have to be disbanded because of the jets. As it turned out they worked it out and they are just as good as the old prop job shows. Fly Navy!

I saw them last year for the first time even though I'm only about 5 miles from Selfridge ANG Base in Michigan. The day before the show, my daughter and I were at a Wal-mart across from the base. We could hear 'em real well during practice. As we came out of the store, 5 jets came screaming past the wall at about 200' in formation.
For some reason, it took us about an hour to leave the parking lot. Tha practice was actually a bit better than the actual show the next day.

Spectacularly beautiful area!! And the best part is it is an extremely conservative community. Far far away from the likes of Boulder and Denver...

Ok, dude, thanks for relieving me of the duty to post my pics! No way could our overcast day, filled with stupid fudgies (the smart ones know that if you want to stand, you stand BEHIND those who are sitting) produce the quality pics you posted. I know if the sun would have been out, mine would have been fabulous (snicker, yeah, riiight! I need a better camera!)Oh, but I think you may want to resize the 2nd one (wait till I copy it tho!) It's making the text too wide for my screen.

Sorry about the size of the picture. I've tried to resize it but it won't let me - or maybe I don't know enough yet on how to do that. I was hoping to do it in Dreamweaver, but that didn't work either.
It messes up my screen too.
I actually have another great picture of them flying near the WTC - but Photobucket will not allow me to upload it to them. I don't know why. It just says, "no WTC pictures". I do have a few in there already, and they've never said anything about removing them.
