I wonder how the Painstream Media covered the event. I have a weak stomach and can't bear to watch it anymore.

My Saturday morning political talkshow host commented that the trip to Memphis by the Bushes and PM Koizumi was "surreal".

I think the right word should be "magical". That 2 leaders of powerful nations (whose fathers were on opposite sides 60 years ago) have normal interests and now have an opportunity to do what "ordinary" tourists do, is terrific. This, and the picture of the PM in the President's pickup in Texas during a previous visit, does a lot to counterbalance the constant refrain of

Nobody likes us
Everybody hates us
We are the terrible America

Nobody likes us Everybody hates us I guess we'll go eat worms.

Surreal is that President Bush has any allies at all that aren't third world dictators, you know, like the one he's responsible for capturing and bringing to justice. Kind of hard to make him the bad dude if friendly nations actually like him. To all the liberal media scums, here's to two more great years.

Even Dubya looked surprised at this one. A real mob boss would be used to greetings like that.

You can't expect people who thrive on division and personal attacks to celebrate the virtues of friendship and forgiveness. I think there's something surreal about that.

POA - Peace or Antagonism? Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Bush administration has chosen peace. All it asks is that other nations not encourage or harbor homicidal maniacs who want us dead.

If our prez were the warlord the liberal media (and congresscritters like Pus Swinegold) make him out to be, he would have gotten rid of the Taliban by nuking Afghanistan right off the map. Instead he helped transform the country into a democracy. Considering that people in the Middle East have been propagandized to hate us for decades by their leaders, they could very well have voted in favor of hostility. Our prez took the leap of faith that they wouldn't because he believes freedom is a treasure to be shared by all.

Still not quite your color on those flowers, but we're getting close. Poor Barney looks lonesome.

At least I think it's Barney. I'm not sure how to tell which is which now that Miss Beazley isn't tiny anymore. (I thought the running pictures with the young soldier from a couple days ago were Barney, but it turned out I was wrong). I guess we just have to hope the source tells us.

Guess we know which one is boss.

Fabulous graphic! From the first time I saw GWB, I saw his resemblence to the iconic American eagle. The semblance to the Statue of Liberty is dramatic. Chills!

Pelosi is taking on Murtha. Oh, tell me what I have missed. This ought to be good!

Murtha announced that if the Dims take back the House in this election, he will run against Pelosi to be Speaker of the House. So she has started challenging him on a few issues, particularly some of his wildly intemperate remarks on Iraq and our troops. Bascially it's a cat fight between them that's only just started, but is likely to heat up if Murtha makes a move to unseat Pelose as the Dim leader.

I did hear Murtha say he was putting his intentions on the table but not actively campaigning for the spot.

They all deserve each other.
