The Migrant Workers of Park Ridge

CNN reports on a speech by New York's junior senator:

Appearing before a religious conference earlier this week, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York) told the audience that as a child attending Sunday school she would baby-sit the children of migrant workers so that their older siblings could join their parents at work.

"I was fortunate that at an early age, through my church, I was given the opportunity to expand my horizons," Clinton told the 600 adults and teenagers attending the Sojourners "Covenant for a New America" conference.

Mrs. Clinton grew up in Park Ridge, Ill., a tony Chicago suburb that as of 2000, according to census data, was 95.4% white, had a median family income of $87,795, and had a grand total of 174 families (1.7%) below the poverty level. How many migrant workers could there have been for her to baby-sit for?

Well, One of my uncles was a Boyer ( a friend of Fred Bear) and by the time I was 7-8 I learned to make a "self bow" from hickory, my uncle gave me arrows from his arrow shop.

Wow, you had it made. I took an oak limb(White Oak in CA)and spent many days carving it. It wasn't much and didn't have a lot of pull but it worked. My arrows were actually made from dowls that my step dad would get for me from the mill where he worked. I use a compound now, Reflex brand, just started getting back into archery after a long absence. I am going to start on 3D soon if my shooting will ever improve! Arrows are Gold Tip and Easton.

Hmmmm....I believe she was refering to Polish Catholics...Catholics likely didn't live there, but worked there. She'll probably actually refering to playing with (bossing around) her parents housekeepers children. :p
