During her husband's presidency, Hillary Clinton liked to complain about persecution at the hands of the "vast right-wing conspiracy." She took for granted, of course, ideological support from the dominant liberal mass media. Ever short on reasoned rebuttal, liberaldom has now come up a new buzzword to rationalize legitimate criticism. It's "swiftboating." A recent letter to the editor from a livid Boulderite (where else?) complained that, "University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill is clearly the latest focus of a 'swift boat'-style campaign. Each of us should be asking ourselves, 'Who's next?' " She then went on to lambaste the Rocky Mountain News for participating in this "specious attack."

The Swift Boaters clearly stated that Kerry LEFT the scene when the shooting started. You really don't have to go and farther into it than that. Americans believed the Boaters...because they couldn't have made up a story that good and have it stand. Hillary hasn't answered ONE SINGLE HARD QUESTION, and believe it folks, when the RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY really goes after this woman IF SHE RUNS, (which is questionable), they will show her up to be exactly what she is, a hard leftest liberal socialist whose beginnings started, during her lawschool and after, with Black Panther idology. She is a liberal socialist, and no matter what she tried to do and say, (like baby sitting transit workers children so they could attend church services...in Chicago no less in the 50's), she will always be shown up. I lived in the Chicago area during those years, and there WERE NO TRANSIT workers anywhere, only hard working unionized and otherwise, Americans.
Definition of swiftboating - being hammered with the truth.
The libs remind me of a 4-year-old with a younger sibling: "First I hit him, and then when he hits me back, I tell mom."
Today, "swiftboating," like McCarthyism, has come to be used by leftists as a facile antidote to dodge or dismiss legitimate criticism which they condescendingly characterize as merely an ad hominem attack, nothing more than name-calling or smearing. But this charade just doesn't hold up. Cindy Sheehan hasn't been "swiftboated." She's an emotionally distraught, foolish airhead. And that's not an ad hominen attack. If you've listened to her speak, it's an accurate, clinical appraisal.
"Kerry could resolve it."

I like that definition.
Swiftboating to me means:
Investigating the truth of what a person claims to be true about himsself/herself and then exposing any lies they have told.
Swiftboating has been around for a long time. I believe most company HR departments practice it when they check references and check other information on the resume and application such as degrees, etc. Colorado was quite remiss in not doing its homework on Ward.
Coast Guard WPB's and Navy PCF's in Division 11, An Thoi, Viet Nam
The term should be used proudly by conservatives.
Swiftboating: a prompt, forceful response to historical fabrications spun for craven political purposes.
Yup, exactly. Great definition! Please swiftboat this person before we bring him on board..
BTTT
Perhaps true as to the Silver Star and one of the three Purple Hearts, but in all other respects the Swifties were borne out IMHO.
"The Swift Boaters clearly stated that Kerry LEFT the scene when the shooting started."
In all fairness, I would have to point out that he did return later when the whole thing was over and all was safe to take a home movie of himself "in action". Has anyone counted the number of times during the war this guy was captured on film? Or should I say, "captured himself" on film. Talk about a long term plan. I wonder if there is a count of how many films there are of him in vietnam as opposed to someone like JFK whose family was already well known, and should have maybe been captured more. BUT, even though I think John Kerry would have been an absolute disaster for this country, he does get 1/2 of a respect point for actually going and actually being faced with a combat situation. It at least beats draft dodging, smoking dope in Europe and not inhaling during the war. But, I then revoke that 1/2 respect point because it is kind of sick when you see that he actually only took the chance of dying in the war so he could advance his goals in life. There is just too much "planned heroism" on his part. Just think, if by some horrible twist of fate, all of that swift boat crew had been wiped out but Kerry. Can you imagine what he would have portrayed himself as then?
The American people resolved the question by a plurality of over 2.8 million votes in November 2004.
If you hold that it is possible that John Kerry has honor and veracity equal to that of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth......then you are blind and deaf.
Thanks for the ping!
