Iraqi Documents: Plans To Produce Prohibited Chemical Weapons Precursors (Translation)
Pentagon/FMSO website for Iraq Pre-war documents ^ | June 28 2006 | jveritas

Posted on 06/28/2006 6:34:38 PM PDT by jveritas

Document http://70.168.46.200/released/04-20-06/CMPC-2003-013956.pdf dated in the year 2000 and document http://70.168.46.200/Released/06-21-06/ISGQ-2003-00044424.pdf dated January 2002 contain memos that talk about finalized research and the plans to locally produce Chemical Materials that can be used as Precursors for Chemical Weapons and that are prohibited by the United Nations for Iraq to produce locally. These materials were allowed to be imported under strict UN regulation because it can be used for other civilian industries and that Iraq should have declared exactly the imported quantities of these materials and where it is used and the balance in bi-yearly report to the UN. However Iraq was absolutely prohibited from manufacturing it locally because it will not be controlled by the UN and thus it can be used to produce Chemical Weapons.

Some of the Chemical Weapons Prohibited Precursors include DICYLOHEXYLDIACARBODIIMIDE which can be used as a Precursor to make SARIN Nerve Gas. SODIUM CYANIDE AND POTASSIUM CYANIDE can be used as a Precursor to make TABUN Nerve Gas. These materials fall under the List A of the United Nation Monitored Iraq Import/Export Goods, see page 9 (A.36, A.37) and page 11 (A.50) http://www.un.org/Depts/unmovic/documents/S-2002-515.pdf , but again these materials were absolutely prohibited to be locally produced in Iraq whereas it is very clear from these memo that the Iraqi were set to produce these Chemical Precursors locally. The Sodium Cyanide and Potassium Cyanide were listed under “Drug research” programs to make it less suspicious.

DCC [dicyclohexylcarbodiimide] is a common reagent in protein research, used in protein synthesis for activation of constituent aminoacid derivatives into their active esters. The amounts needed for such [absolutely legal] activities would be small - maybe 100 pounds a year for research, but much more if they ever did pharma production involving it.

"Yes, less than 0.25% of Iraqi ammunitions were inspected"

0.25%..... yes, that figure is a total scandal, even if Duelfer would say that 'conventional' ammo sites would be unlikely to yield WMDs it certainly seem plausible that a regime seeking to hide such weapons and chemicals could put them on military bases, etc. that seemed to be for something else. That way they could both control the site and hide the warheads, etc. I don't know what may or may not be still in Iraq, but obviously neither do Kay or Duelfer since they did such a piss-poor job.

I thought that not much could surprise me anymore on this subject, but the day that I first read of Duelfer admitting that so so few of the KNOWN munitions sites were searched, I realized that the Kay/Duelfer reports were even more bogus and pathetic than we had suspected. How could they possibly (in good conscience) search only a couple of the known weapons & ammo locations, and then pretend that they could possibly opine on whether or not there were WMDs around waiting to be found....???

Thanks for keeping up this immensely important work jveritas, and thanks for keeping the pings coming eyespysomething!

How much longer can the MSM pretend this information doesn't exist, I don't know, but we can bet they'll do their damndest to keep it under wraps until after the election in November, along with nice little tidbits like the rats voting 190 to 4 against House Resolution 868, "Declaring That the United States Will Prevail in the Global War on Terror, the Struggle to Protect Freedom From the Terrorist Adversary".

We have overwhelming proof of a continuing WMD program, over 500 artillery shells containing WMDs found hidden, the rats are literally voting against winning the battle against terrorism, and all the press can talk is Rush's wood. Word needs to get out, but even our congress critters don't want to talk about it.

Imagine what a difference it would make if they started writing their constituents updates with this information - but who gets letters from their congressmen unless it's asking for money?

Thanks, AV.

I wonder when (ha!) the MSM will connect the dots?

The Lefties are in denial, now. I accidentally caught that idiot Keith Olbermann on MSNBC for a few seconds last night. He's been receiving e-mails asking him when he would acknowledge there were WMD's in Iraq. Paraphrasing, he said "Never! Because there WEREN'T any WMD in Iraq."

On November 10th, UNEP said thousands of contaminated industrial and military sites left over from wars in Iraq must urgently be cleaned up to stop them from further harming people's health and the environment. One of the five sites recently assessed by UNEP—a metal plating facility near Baghdad damaged by ground and air strikes in 2003—is believed to contain several tons of acutely toxic sodium cyanide. —"U.N.: Iraq hazardous waste sites neglected" Associated Press 10 November 2005. http://www.cyanidepoisoning.org/wt/page/industry_news

Iraqi bomb labs signal attacks in the works - Washington Times

"The chemical labs had cookbooks that had formulas for making explosives," Col. Boylan said. "One of them had directions on how to make anthrax. One of them had ingredients and directions on how to make blood agent." Chemicals for the blood agent hydrogen cyanide that were found included potassium cyanide and hydrochloric acid, he said.

Exports to Iraq Andy King: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what goods subject to strategic controls have recently been approved for export to Iraq. [57317]

Mr. MacShane: Following consultation with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Trade and Industry recently approved a licence to export laboratory equipment to UNESCO for use by higher education institutions in northern Iraq. The export included bacterial growth media and potassium cyanide subject to the UN Import/Export (IMPEX) regime. Potassium cyanide is also subject to the Dual-Use Items (Export Control) Regulations 2000 as amended. The conclusion that this export does not represent a proliferation threat has been reached after careful assessment.

The UN Iraq Sanctions Committee approved this export to Iraq under the Oil for Food programme (OFF). Under OFF Iraq is allowed to export unlimited quantities of oil to fund the purchase of humanitarian goods. The export is consistent with the consolidated EU and national arms export licensing criteria.

"Chemical laboratory" discovered by US forces in Fallujah (Iraq) on 23 November 2004 (US Marine Corps photographs). Potassium cyanide, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, as well as different nitrates were among the chemicals found. These could be used to consrtuct improvised chemical devices (ICDs) called "Mobtakar".

Iraqi Resistance Report

“At 2am after midnight last night a number of your Mujahideen brothers were on night patrol observing the movements of the American enemy occupying our territory along the borders with the Iranian enemy. Your brothers noticed 19 Iranians along with two members of the Badr Brigade stooge force of the American occupation sneaking into Iraqi territory in three large cars.

“Your brothers arrested them and began to interrogate them to learn what they brought with them. We found that they had machine guns equipped with silencers and chemical substances such as deadly potassium-cyanide – the same substance that Badr Brigade members tried to put in the al-Fallujah fresh water pumping station in an attempt to annihilate our people there. But by the grace of God they were caught and executed in central al-Fallujah’s Celebration Square in time.
