"I don't get it- why now?" The Israelis have probably come to the realization that when civilized people are in a death struggle with barbarians, civilized people cannot afford to pull any punches. Israelis are now prepared, willing and able to kill every barbarian (read Muslim) man, woman, and child in the Middle East, because if they don't, Israel will in all likelihood cease to exist.
It's called survival of the fittest.

I'm shocked Syria didn't at least fire SAMs. Looks like Syria opened up some anti-aircraft guns, but after the jets were gone:
"Anti-aircraft guns opened fire long after the aircrafts left Syrian airspace"

"when civilized people are in a death struggle with barbarians, civilized people cannot afford to pull any punches",I'm tempted to steal that and use it as a tag line.

"Let's see. The Palestinians threaten chemical and biological warfare. The Iraqi WMD (which, of course, never existed) were taken to Syria by the Russians. Now . . ."Pretty much exactly. Don't forget Russia suddenly started openly cozying up to Hamas right after Hamas got into power or that Hamas broke the cease fire right after Mother Russia extended them a "helping hand"

Time for Israel to bomb the rubble into smaller pieces. Taking out Hamas once and for all wouldn't hurt either.

Interior Minister and former Shin Bet head Avi Dichter said that the only reason Mashaal is not in an Israeli jail is that Israel, as an enlightened nation, has placed certain restrictions upon itself.

See link in post 105.
Worth nothing, if the Syrians entered Gaza through Egypt, that's a clear treaty violation.

Funny how these nations tend to do that. I remember during Desert Storm Saddam had the AA's open up over Baghdad and in reality the F-117s were already long gone.
Sounds to me that they have response issues, which is a good thing.

My mistake: The original spelling of Casus Belli is correct.
