If the mark of a person at ease with himself is the ability to have a chuckle at his own expense, then Rush Limbaugh is a supremely serene man. In the wake of the incident in which he was detained at the Palm Beach International Airport when it was discovered he had in his luggage a vial of Viagra with a prescription not in his name, you might have imagined that Rush would have begun today's show with an indignant denial of wrongdoing. He might have explained in tedious detail that in fact the prescription had, with personal privacy in mind, been written in his doctor's name.
But no. Rush opened by poking gentle fun at the situation, and even, in the process, at himself:
"I want to know how Bob Dole's luggage was substituted for mine."
And then: "I had told my doctor that I was concerned about the next election, not, er . . ."
Concluded Rush, undefensively: "It is what it is."
Rush has always had a very well-defined direction.
It was perfect. CBS in fact admitted the story was over.
Prescription drugs are to be used only with a valid prescription. Otherwise, they'd be over-the-counter drugs.
SD
I really like him but poor Rush is pathetic. It seems like he needs drugs for everything. He is a Wild Man.
Or all the "sax and violins" on television...
The authorities in Florida embarrassed Rush for no reason at all. No one deserves their personal matters on public display like that. So, he takes viagra. Big deal. Do you remember that President Clinton's meidical records have neer been made public to this day? Well, what drugs is he on and what diseases (venereal?) is he dealing with? Again, it's no one's business. To me, this is simply a sign that Rush continues to annoy the hell out of the liberals and they have to stoop to this low level tactic. They have nothing!!!
Most guys would call every woman they know!
How did Bob Dole's luggage get on my plane?
I have to take viagra because I have high blood pressure. Diabetics have to take it if they want a normal sex life. Many, many men, young men, with high blood pressure, diabetics and others must take it to have a normal sex life. Do you think they are all pathetic also? Hundreds of thousands of American males, a good lot of them under 50, must take this drug for one reason or another.
Calling someone pathetic because they have to take certain drugs makes YOU the pathetic one and a asshole to boot!
Milk Out Of The Nostrils Bump. :)
His doctor just misunderstood him when he asked for a cochlear implant....
I used to work in an Emergency Room (before the advent of Viagra) and we once got in a guy who had priapism.I remember that the nurse took him in right away and called the Urology Resident immediately.I don't think it's life threatening, but it's certainly more serious than the sniffles.
At the risk of sounding old-fashioned, he should feel ashamed. He is a single man.
That's a cheap shot and you should be ashamed. Due to back surgery that left Rush with no relief but excruciating pain, he became addicted to a pain killer. Many middle aged and older men take viagra and there is no shame in doing so. Two drugs are hardly everything.
It's his private life and it's none of our business. You wouldn't even know about it if the drive-by media and nasty liberal political operatives weren't obsessed with everything about his private life.
I still think it is ashame that the only WMD the press and liberals seem to want know about is in Rush's pants.
