Why I Am a Republican (by Ben Stein)

...Karl Rove is why I am a Republican. He is how Republicans are...
The real Republicans are the hardware store owners in Little Rock, the factory workers in Kentucky who believe in life, the retired aerospace workers in Palm Desert who are concerned about the moral decay of the culture...
Real Republicans are not haters. Not ever. It's just not in them to hate, just as it's not in any real American to hate any other American who lives within the law...

Poor Ben, he doesn't follow the dogma of some FR posters so he must be critized for getting off of the plantation. Isn't that how the liberals handle disagreement?

Can we run this guy against Barbara Boxer in 2010? I can see it now, inside the voting booth. "Yeah, man, Ben Stein, he's that teacher guy from Ferris Beuhler's day off. That movie rocked, I'm voting for him."

Ah... I take issue with ya about your tag line "no program, no ideas, no clue: The democrats!"
"no program..." are you kidding me??? They have a PROGRAM to destroy America, her common sense goodness, and her moral fabric...

Why I am a Libertarian? Because Democrats and Republicans are basically the same - one wants to raise taxes and waste a lot of money, the other wants increase deficits and waste a lot of money. In the end, they are both big government, big spending institutions.

Unfortunate but true, that's how a lot of voters make their decisions; or off the last 30 second political info-mercial they saw.

I am a Republican and I do hate.Maybe so.
But there are different kinds of hate, just as there are different kinds of love.

This is a brilliant, subtle, crafty piece.
Here's to Ben Stein. He is truly amazing.

If they(Liberals) drive a little hybrid car, then so should you. I just had a conversation with a bunch of them this morning at work. It ended up that if you don't drive a small car you should pay the luxury tax, which they would still pay because "they" want to drive what they want to drive.

So he posts nice things about Hillary Clinton and Sheila Jackson Lee.
Stein is wishywashy.
Also, Ben Stein believes that the rich need to pay more in taxes.
Ben Stein is about 60% republican. 50% and he becomes a RINO.

Read it again!!!
(Sorry, but this drives me nuts. The point is there. We are conservatives. Ponder a minute and get a good laugh at their expense.)

Glad to see you around here a little more these days, Laz. You always make me laugh. Even when you're wrong. ; ).

"...Karl Rove is why I am a Republican. He is how Republicans are..." I like Ben Stein, but I believe him to be a big government man. Of course, that is why he's a Republican.
