ANOTHER ANN COULTER THREAD

Posted on 06/26/2006 4:14:38 AM PDT by 7thson

I know, I know - another Ann Coulter thread. I wanted to start a fresh thread because of a question. I am two thirds through her latest book, Godless, and I began wondering about something. Why is she being attacked and skewered for her comments on the Jersey Girls? Other than her views on evolution - which, as far as I know, are only commented upon on Free Republic - the mass media does not comment on anything else she has written in the book. She has commented on Howard Dean, Cindy Sheehan, John Edwards, his wife, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, RFK, Jr., et al. In fact, one comment concerning Sheehan - where she says Sheehan is proof some body types should not wear shorts - should be gravy for the media. Why the fascination with the Jersey Girls? Is it because people do not want to question the 9/11 commission - which they wanted - and find out it was a rubber stamp to exonerate the Clintons?

Here's a very strange interview with Ann about being a deadhead.

Ann's a 'deadhead'? I've just lost all respect for her, and won't be buying her book. Worst fricking band of the last century. Noise looking for a classfication category. Junk.

Because that's where they thought she was most vulnerable since it can be argued (especially when her quote is taken out of context) that this was her most outrageous (and offensive) statement in the book. I'm almost through it also and I think it is excellent. Thank God we have her to articulate the points she makes...

So will the liberals start saying that it was all the drugs that explain Coulter's attitude?

Because the Jersey Girls are, so far, the only ones who haven't publicly slimed themselves. Cindy Sheehan is over, she made a fool of herself and everyone who supported her, the others are divisive and unpleasant. The Jersey Girls, however, are relative unknowns to the American public, though since Ann's book has come out, they won't be, for long.

Consider: Now, thanks to Ann, all of America knows that the Jersey Girls DO NOT speak for all the relatives of those who died on 9/11. Thanks to Ann, all of America knows that the Jersey Girls are making a handsome living criticizing the war in Iraq and the WOT. Thanks to Ann, these formerly criticism-proof poor little victims are having the bright light of public scrutiny shone on their behavior, and what it reveals is not pretty.

I commend Ann Coulter. This past week, I bought her book, and am reading it. I've read other things she has written, and as far as I'm concerned, she is taking on the sacred cows of the left with a vigor and intelligence that is astonishing.

I admire her--she is a sort of Joan of Arc to me. She uses the truth to unmask and disarm those who wish America ill--particularly when they call themselves citizens.

I pray for Ann's safety. I pray she will continue to do battle. I honor her for the sacrifices she makes to do what she does best. I hope she profits by her work.

God bless you, Ann Coulter! I hope you read this, and know that there is a little old retired nurse out in flyover country who likes and admires you. And I am not alone. You are a credit to women everywhere.

They don't comment on the others because they are all examples of just how sleazy the Dims are, and they don't want people being reminded.

Not only are they a bad band, their fans are one of the biggest collections of human debris ever put together in one location.

It is an okay interview - at least, as far as I am concerned. I have never been a Dead fan. I like a couple of their songs but never got into them that much.

Clearly you didn't read the interview -- quite a list of conservative fans mentioned.

Hey. I'm not one, and I vever buy music of any kind, but my style runs more toward Toby Keith. And I think the Dixie Chicks are a fun group! I also am delighted that CW fans have stopped listening to them, but it doesn't change the fact that they were good.

Ann has commented of how little of her book has been read by the DBM. She has said that she said much worse things about other topics.

I wasn't commenting on the interview. I was commenting on Grateful Dead music & fans.

I agree, there are lots of good musicians and I like a lot of them, but when they make political comments, they lose my respect.

So Ann's a deadhead. Big deal. It's not enough for me to write her off. I never cared for the music of the "dead" but then again I never cared for alot of what passes for music in the last twenty+ years, and more than likely I never cared for what you consider good music too. So by that argument, I should never consider anything that you have to say as legitimate?
