A tighter race is looming in the battle for the United States Senate. GOP incumbent Jim Talent trailed democrat Claire McCaskill by a slim 3 points in January.
Now, McCaskill's lead is six points and McCaskill's edge mirrors Nixons in the governors race.
She leads among women by 13%, and independent voters by 14%.
McCaskill leads big in St. Louis City, and has a 12% edge in St. Louis County.
Well Missouri invented the mule, or made it a state industry in any event. I take your point. Senate predictions outside of Montana and Pennsylvania are more of a speculation than an investment, in just so many races. That is what makes it fun for the psephologist junkies. Our time is here and now.
Per subsequent posts, I assume that this was not an internet poll. If it was, it is spam.
According to Rollcall, Talent voted against the Immigration Bill.

MOgirl, let me apologize to you all. Talent voted ""NO"" on the Senate bill.
Some blogs had this confused, and by my haste too I probably misread their discussion of seperate amendments he may have voted "Yea" which might not look good examined individually. For example The Michigan Dem voted ""NO"" on the final bill but anyway voted "Yea" on some ridiculous amendments which her opponents are using against her. Why she do it? I don't know, maybe for later favors.
I rechecked the others I mentioned. Stand firm on them. Sorry again for the mistake.
If you mean the S.L. P-D poll then it is certainly not an internet poll. Their polls are conducted by Research 2000.
"It's all about turnout, turnout, turnout. Who is the most motivated."
"Yes, but only in very close elections. If Talent is trailing McCaskill by 42-48%, then no amount of turnout will prevent him from going down. However, if it's something like 47-47%, then turnout will certainly help (even if the undecideds break for the challenger)."
Anti-G I'm assuming it will be a photo-finish race at the end. It seems to me that in recent years many of the Missou US Senate races have been real cliffhangers. I'm also thinking that McCaskill challenged a sitting RAT governor, which should mean that there is still some lingering hard feelings for her among the RAT rank and file. That along with W surging in the public opinion polls, and flying in to help the talented Talent should be enough to pull him over the finish line. We very much need to keep this seat if we're going to appoint more Conservatives to the SCOTUS.
Dems preparing to cook up votes in St. Louis & Kansas City, IMO
Exactly! And I think Talent will win by 6%.
The scumbag democrats always try this in Mo.
You're making a pretty strong case for your point of view, especially noting the fact that McCaskill defeated Holden in the primary. I think there is a strong possibility that it will indeed turn out the way you say.
Yeah your state rocks. I'd glady trade you my socialist Governor and two socialist Dem Senators for your respective office holders.
You generalize your hatred to an entire state?...that is moronic and immature.....FR at times is just as bad as DU at times with all the vitriol and absurd and hateful statements........get a life
Yes.
I am shocked and saddened to see that somebody's trying to steal my freepname! :)
