It doesn't matter how you meet a girl, douchebag. You are not allowed to have sex with anyone underage, period.
I am speechless.
Think I'll sue too.
Huh. A Buda-pest.
Nor should they!
"lawyer agees ...he wouldn't be in this trouble if it hadn't been for the ... website" -- Idiot #2
"mother is suing the website for 30-million dollars for lack of security" -- Idiot #3
"Myspace takes no responsibility in the case." -- A voice of sanity
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
I am literally laughing out loud!!!!
So now My Space is supposed to have the child sex laws disclaimers on every page???
Oh my, this is rich!!
What liability does Algore, and his damned internet, carry in this obsenity?
One pathetic 40+ midget, 4 days from having to go to prison on solicitation of a minor get busted by Dateline.
The guy later was later charges with molesting a stepdaughter or niece, the judge labeled him a sexual predator and sentenced his to 10 yrs.
There was even an adult man that showed up at a stranger house with condoms, beer. Stripped butt-naked before strolling into a strangers home, expecting a home-alone minor.
Honest, I didn't know the knife was loaded!
I think MySpace stole my lunch. It was right here on my desk by my computer. I better lawyer up.
Trust me, it was just a matter of time fella.
Soooo... if this guy had gone to a local teen hangout or met the girl at a store or restaurant, he would be arresting these facilities?
Content/Activity Prohibited.
2. harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
3. exploits people in a sexual or violent manner;
As a side note, the terms of service may not be applicable to the girl.
A contract made by a minor is voidable at the minor's discretion, meaning that the contract is valid and enforceable until the minor takes some affirmative act to disavow the contract. Minors who choose to disavow their contracts entered may not be held liable for breach. The law assumes that minors are too immature, naïve, or inexperienced to negotiate on equal terms with adults, and thus courts protect them from being held accountable for unwisely entering contracts of any kind.
Of course myspace.com knows this, but does not care since they make money by shoving advertisements in front of the minor. In my opinion, myspace should have some accountability here.
Speechless...
Gotta bump this for later. This is too funny.
Using this logic, there are a large number of entities at fault instead of this guy.
He had to travel to the girl's house. If the county hadn't made roads or provided public transportation, he couldn't have gotten there. While we're at it, sue the car company that made the vehicle he used to get there.
If the power company hadn't provided power to his house, he couldn't have powered on his computer and thus never visited MySpace.
His ISP certainly bears some of the blame.
His school teachers back in the day deseve blame, because they taught him how to read. Had he been illiterate, MySpace would have been meaningless.
MySpace's power company and MySpace's ISP seem pretty culpable in this cicumstance.
This is just the beginning. There are all kinds of people we can sue!
