Myspace.com may be in more legal trouble now that an accused sex offender may also want to sue the site. The 19-year old Buda man who is accused of having sex with a 14-year old Austin girl, he reportedly met on Myspace.com, says he didn't know it was against the law to have sex with the teenager.
Peter Solis also says he wouldn't be in this trouble if it hadn't been for the social networking website and his lawyer, Adam Reposa agrees. The 14-year old girl's mother is suing the website for 30-million dollars for lack of securiy. Now Reposa says his client might also sue.
But attorney Laura Prather says it will be much more difficult for Solis to prove his case because Myspace didn't tell him to sexually assault the 14 year old.
Myspace takes no responsibility in the case.
It doesn't matter how you meet a girl, douchebag. You are not allowed to have sex with anyone underage, period.
I am speechless.
Think I'll sue too.
Huh. A Buda-pest.
Nor should they!
"lawyer agees ...he wouldn't be in this trouble if it hadn't been for the ... website" -- Idiot #2
"mother is suing the website for 30-million dollars for lack of security" -- Idiot #3
"Myspace takes no responsibility in the case." -- A voice of sanity
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
I am literally laughing out loud!!!!
So now My Space is supposed to have the child sex laws disclaimers on every page???
Oh my, this is rich!!
I once had a professor who said, (and he didn't even know he made a funny!) "Ignorance is no excuse for the law." :)
susie
What liability does Algore, and his damned internet, carry in this obsenity?
That IS funny!!!
One pathetic 40+ midget, 4 days from having to go to prison on solicitation of a minor get busted by Dateline.
The guy later was later charges with molesting a stepdaughter or niece, the judge labeled him a sexual predator and sentenced his to 10 yrs.
There was even an adult man that showed up at a stranger house with condoms, beer. Stripped butt-naked before strolling into a strangers home, expecting a home-alone minor.
and father???
In a world where more and more children are being sexually victimized by predators they met on the internet, I have heard not one word from all the educrats about sex education to address this problem. While they continue to sing the praises of condom use and denounce abstinence based sex ed, which of the two approaches would better help a potential victim keep from being taken advantage of?
if it was my daughter I'd be loading my shotgun.
Alas, I don't have a daughter but I would still volunteer for the jury.
Honest, I didn't know the knife was loaded!
