My friend is running for the Governor's Council in MA.....Phil Paleologos of New Bedford is the owner of the 'world famous' Shawmut Diner and he recently retired from his nationally syndicated radio show: 'American Breakfast'.

I became acquainted with Phil in March & April 2003 at the start of the WOT in Iraq when I called his radio show to promote 'Support Our Troops' rallies I was helping to organize in Sarasota & Venice, FL.

In May that same year, I visited his New Bedford Diner and was on his radio show.

On June 19, 2003 I posted an account of being on his radio show on Free Republic. The thread is here:

Now three years later, Phil Paleologos is a candidate for the MA Governor's Council in the First District.

The Governor’s Council consists of an eight-member body responsible for approving or disapproving the Judicial Appointments of the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, among other important duties.

Phil is a true conservative and he's running to make sure lenient judges who are easy on criminals do not gain lifetime tenure.

The term is two years and Phil is running against Democrat Carole Fiola of Fall River. Phil is the only Republican running in this district. The First District includes these MA counties: Barstable (Cape Cod), Bristol, Plymouth, Dukes (Martha's Vinyard ad Nantucket.

Please spread the word about Phil Paleologos to all your MA friends, especially those in the First District.

And I hope all my FReeper FRiends will go to this website and support his effort to stand up for the rights of victims, not hardened criminals. The people of MA need a conservative voice on the Governor's Council!

Look what our mutual friend, Phil Paleologos is up to.....after 'retiring' from 'American Breakfast'...Phil is a candidate for the MA Governor's Council.

His goal is to help get MA judges who are tough on criminals.

The Governor’s Council consists of an eight-member body responsible for approving or disapproving the Judicial Appointments of the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, among other important duties.

I wonder if he's related to Constantine XI Paleologos, the last Roman emperor?

I spent seven years doing on-air commentary with Phil Paleologos, and count him as a good friend, a thoughtful man, and a solid conservative. I cannot endorse highly enough his candidacy for this critical role in selecting the judges who will serve on Massachusetts courts.
