" It should be the Muslim mind. Christian Arabs denounce evil and violence unlike Arab or other ethnic Muslims."

Right on. Muslims come in all shapes and colors, it is not a racial group. In days of old when writers told the truth, they were called "Muhammadan crusaders". Perhaps this writer should read: Inside the mind of the Muhammadan

Again........any religion that condones murder, torture, and butchery does not belong in America.

Beats me, I guess people from different cultures, think and act differently about moral issues, while being invaded is a physical act requiring self-defense of one's property and life. You'll have to ask God why He made everyone so different.

I'm a Christian, but I've never bought into this 'everything happens according to God's will' argument. I believe the two greatest things he gave us was life and the free will to do as we please. As for the rest of it, I believe God takes a hands-off approach and lets things happen naturally, for good or bad. Don't ask why - I'm sure he has his reasons ;)

That's what I find funny about the jihadis - they're quick to scream 'it's allah's will' when a hurricane hits the United States, but are strangely silent when an earthquake or tsunami hits a muslim country and kills tens of thousands.

We believe differently, but we probably agree that what and why God does things, is His business, and a mystery to us.

Thx for that article. Good read.

I am disgusted with this PC way this war is being waged.

I think anyone suspected of being a terrorist or of supporting terrorism (particularly inside the U.S.) should be given a quick military trial (before a tribunal) and shot as soon as they are of no further use.

This is a war like no other and we may be killing more of the enemy, but I doubt we have even begun to damage to the hideous ideology that fuels this war.

I bet all people have the potential to act differently, regardless of faith, ethnicity, culture, etc.

June 21, 2006 TOO LATE

By: John LuhBOOT lee ay

As Carole King sang thirty years ago, “It’s too late, Baby.” She was referring to romance, but in this context it is too late for Team Bush to recapture the loyalty of the conservative GOP base. When your leader plummets to 29% - and is voted in the latest Quinnipiac poll as the worst president since WW II - there is no hope of enforcing party discipline.

The internal state of the Republican Party is one of total turmoil. They are floundering - and do not know what to do to right the ship of state.

So they are - again - trying to federalize a state issue: marriage. Since when did we conservatives believe the federal government should usurp state’s rights?

It is indeed “too late.” GW Bush’s credibility is shot; his power eroded; his ability to influence events virtually gone.

His own arrogance and ignorance caused his downfall. He was too arrogant to listen when warned about the impending fiasco in Iraq; and he was too ignorant - and lazy - to study history to see what lay ahead in a war such as this.

The result?

A presidency deteriorating right before our eyes. Never - even under the inept Carter or the corrupt Nixon - have we seen a self-immolation quite like this. And we still have 2 ½ years to go!

No wonder more and more people are calling for a Third Party. Or, as has been written in this space for more than a year, an Independent Third Candidate who runs against both parties.

One of the founders of the Baath Party was a Greek Orthodox Syrian by the name of Michael Aflak. He either converted to Islam or embraced a Pan-Arab nationalism with Islam as its political basis.

I don't agree with the article, and it's never too late.

It's horrible. Michel Aflaq, another graduate of the Sorbonne - that French institution has turned a lot of men to the dark side hasn't it? - established the Baathist ideology.

When I have time I am going to disgest this material more fully. It is exactly as I have been saying for years--the Arabs only contribution to humanity was the taming of the camel, the invention of the camel saddle, and the fogara (an efficient type of well that they may not actually have discovered). Other than that, they have done nothing to benefit humanity as a whole. Even Islam itself was partly stolen from Christianity and Judaism. All of the so-called "Arab" discoveries are Byzantine, Egyptian, Persian, or have some other origin.

Back before and just after 9/11, I was on a listserve with an American woman who was Jewish and living in Israel. She frequently said that she had to be very circumspect because there were Israeli Arabs who lived in her neighborhood and were quick to denounce anyone who spoke out against the PA, Arafat, etc. At times, her fear was palpable even thru the email.

I can imagine how difficult life must be for Arab Christians living in Palestine-controlled areas.

I suspect that when Aflak attended the Sorbonne it was run by anti-colonial Leftists. After WWII the Left had a great deal of influence in France because it was prominent in the Resistance. The Right was discredited because many of them sided with the Vichyites.

May we not assume that they WOULD act this way under the same circumstances?

If you have time, here is an intersting interview with a Jewish fellow who discusses the Christian plight in the Holy Land.
