However, Americans would arm themselves in an instant if this were happening here.

It did, on 9/11. I see no arms, do you?

A couple pistols in the belt and a scimitar for close work in crowds. Aargh, matey!

Somehow, "abduction" doesn't seem adequate to describe that number of people being taken.

Agreed. It'd be like "abducting" 80 cats.

They want to create such fear in the population that the new government is pressured to tell the U.S. to leave.

Yes, I do. Everyone is armed here. Count on it.

Exactly, it is not making sense. Then another report says 100 men and 'dozens' of terrorists herding them. If it is true the men know they are going to be killed, and so, would they not fight?

A suicide bomber on each bus with a few armed men would be all that is needed.

It was not clear what either of the factories produced, although one official said they had supplied armaments to Saddam Hussein's military.

I'm assuming they still produce some kind of military material. I wonder if that's why these people were kidnapped?

And if the pistols misfire, and we drop the cutlass, our parrot-on-the-shoulder will give them such a bite!

War against them all! But how is it to be conducted?

The families, friends, neighbors and fellow citizens of these kidnapped workers are the key. They have to go "Network"

I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

"How on earth would factory workers deaths help the terrorists cause. This makes no sense to me."

It is a show of force, an escalation of the violence, to prove that Zarqawi's death was not a serious blow to them.

Absolutely NOTHING ISLAMOFASCISTS stand for or do can be described with any common sense.

Don't even bother to "UNDERSTAND" pure EVIL!!!

Those aren't Mini-14's. They are M14 which the Mini-14 is based upon but a vast improvement. I agree with you that the M14 is crap.

Very good point, but if the strong are gone (or at least a small percentage) who will run their country? It's a rhetorical question.
