Poland's chief rabbi: Polish government 'is not bigoted'
20.06.2006
Poland's chief rabbi Michael Schudrich has written a letter to the New York Times in response to its article accusing the new Polish government of bigotry. One of the recent editorials in the New York Times expressed concern about recent developments in Poland.
Report by Danusia Szafraniec in New York
Commenting on the Equality March by sexual minority held in Warsaw on June 10 the newspaper calls this countrys government bigoted, says that Poland seems intent on violating human rights of minorities and mentions the anti-Semitic attack against Polands chief rabbi Michael Schudrich during the visit of Pope Benedict to Poland last month.
Rabbi Schudrich points out that the Polish government and President were quick to condemn a recent assault on him by an unknown attacker in Warsaw, and that they offered him a personal apology.
Worth note that the NYT's takes care never to use "name calling" when referring to NK or Iran, so as not to offend them.
I wonder who gets better treatment, a lesbian in Poland or a lesbian in (pick Arabic/Persian country of choice)?
It's the New York Slimes, don't you know, creating their own version of reality, history, foreign policy and social commentary.
Poland's bigoted government

Cheif Rabbi's letter flies in the face of those on this forum who enjoy believing what the Times does.
One has to remember that the Times writes what it believes it's readers want to read. Poland is the favorite bashing post for many Jews who are pro-red.
A government can be called "not bigoted" but that still does not mean there are no racial/ethnic/religious based "haters." Xenophobia continues to be a rising problem throughout the former Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union. Unfortunately.
And btw, the irony of you posting a link to a site that honors a fascist Polish American as a "fallen hero" is absolutely hilarious.

This is good to know.
