IRAQ: Armed foreign gangs fleeing, reports (terrorists in Ramadi on the run)
AKI ^ | 2006 Jun 20

Posted on 06/20/2006 8:44:47 AM PDT by Wiz

Baghdad, 20 June (AKI) - Sources in Ramadi in the restive al-Anbar province report that large groups of armed foreign militants are fleeing towards the Syrian border, as US and Iraqi forces tighten their siege on the city. Ramadi, some 100 kilometres west of Baghdad, is a stronghold of the insurgency and there are reports of many residents also fleeing in fear of an assault. Sources told Adnkronos International (AKI) that local tribes were also pursuing foreign terrorists "because of the immense damage they have done to infrastructure and the bad name they have given the insurgency by terror attacks against innocent civilians."

The sources added that "the armed men are heading towards the highlands near the Euphrates in an effort to find a secure refuge," emphasising that "the murder of the head of the Karabila tribe, Osama al-Jadaan, in al-Mansour last month, by al-Qaeda operators, triggered a vendetta by his relatives and followers."

I imagine checkpoints are going up in various areas of western Iraq towards Syria and our toops, along with the Iraqi forces will be looking in places where snakes and vermin hide all around that (very desolate) region.

Ramadi and its surrounding area is due for a good cleaning.

Good news - Now bring in the air assets and decimate them - I'd prefer we kill a lot more than ten percent of them.

I'm a tech sergeant in the Air Force Reserve and I can't for the life of me understand the way we're fighting the war...with one hand tied behind our back, so as not to offend anyone. We've had total air superiority from Day One and yet we can't stop the a-holes from planting roadside bombs all over the place at night? And we're not bombing these a-holes "fleeing" to Syria? The skies should be full of fighters, bombers and manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft. I'm really disappointed in Air Force and DoD leadership.

Amen. We're so afraid of pissing anyone off with "heavy handed tactics" that we're getting hamstringed, which is probably the intent of the media, the left wing and Europe's incessant carping to begin with. We've got an ear overly-tuned to European and American left wing public opinion and they eviscerated us over our "pummeling of Fallujah" as if going in to Fallujah would have even been necessary if there weren't terrorists who murdered 4 American security contractors turning the place into a mini-Taliban nation state. So now we're gun shy to make any major moves in Iraq. It's a damned shame. We should either tune out the noise from the American left wing seditionists and the Eurotrash fools and fight this war right or...well I don't want to mention the alternative.

Psalm 94

1O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?

4They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

8Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?
9He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.

12Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Southern Air Transport, a former CIA asset, was on record as being the first to have an all women crew flying one of their C-130's in the largest Civilian fleet of C-130 Hercules. I'm sure there are several all women crews flying various Military aircraft. The C-130 is an awesome plane to fly, a little bit noisy, but who cares when your having so much fun.

Ah yes, the terrorist-infested sh*t hole of Fallujah. Remember we wanted to go in but held off for six months at the urging of the great Kofi Anan? And what happened? Eugene Armstrong was beheaded, Kenneth Bigley was beheaded, and Margaret Hassan was disemboweled by the practitioners of the Religion of Peace and Love and dumped into the street. The place needed to be encirlced and leveled by an air strike. Same thing with the rat hole of Sadr City, where 8 of our brave men where massacred by local "citizens" in April 04.
But I doubt our military "leadership" will learn any of these lessons. Instead, they're more concerned with shackling and confining 7 Marines and one sailor who have not been charged with a crime. They're more concerned with placating the international media and fellow liberal idiots than waging war as it should be -- mercilessly, relentlessly and viciously.

That has to be one heck of a G-shift as that bomb rolls out the back door. I would imagine that the C-17 tilts upward at least 15-20 degrees by the time the bomb reaches that position and then just as quickly the tail end pops back level as the plane once again returns to a normal G load index again once the bomb is away.

That was a test at Edwards last week...actually, they say it is for shooting satellites into low orbit out the back of C17s...but one wonders!

Let the new Iraqi Army lead the parade into liberated Ramadi like we let the Free French forces, in WWII, lead the parade into the just liberated Paris.
