A coalition calling itself "Bush Go Home" said Monday it hoped some 10,000 to 15,000 demonstrators will take to the streets of Vienna Wednesday to protest against the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush.
"The name George Bush, the name of the American president, has become a symbol for war crimes, for Abu Ghraib, for Guantanamo, for Jenin, said organizer Michael Proebsting, a member of the Austrian faction of the League for the Fifth International.
The coalition is made up of groups including the Communist Initiative, the Anti-Imperialist Coalition and representatives from Austria's Turkish, Syrian, Iraqi and Palestinian communities.
Proebsting said he hoped that between 10,000 and 15,000 people would participate in the march slated to begin late Wednesday afternoon, the day of the EU-U.S. summit hosted by Austria, which currently hosts the European Union's rotating presidency.
But with security expected to be very tight in Vienna's city center, organizers acknowledged they may not be able to get very close to the Hofburg Palace, the location of the summit.
During the visit, slated to begin late Tuesday, Austrian authorities are mobilizing some 3,000 police to secure the streets, said Interior Ministry spokesman Rudolf Gollia. Of those, some 1,000 will focus solely on the demonstrations, Gollia said.
"We're confident that we're well prepared," Gollia said.
They should remember there won't be a next time.
These clowns go well beyond the point of 'useless'. What on earth do they think they're going to accomplish besides missing work and smelling really bad?
As an American, anymore I figure I'll simply vote for the one who annoys these socialist a$$hats the most.
They WORK???????

Logo of the League for the Fifth InternationalThe League for the Fifth International (LFI or L5I) is an international grouping of Trotskyist organisations. Its members include Workers Power in Britain and Australia, Gruppe Arbeitermacht in Germany, Arbetarmakt in Sweden, SOP in Czech Republic, the Irish Workers' Group and ArbeiterInnen Standpunkt in Austria.
It was founded as the Movement for a Revolutionary Communist International. Its first member groups were Workers Power in Britain, the Irish Workers Group, Pouvoir Ouvrier in France and Gruppe Arbeitermacht in Germany (GAM). After a Congress in 1989 the organisation adopted a common programme - the Trotskyist Manifesto - and a democratic centralist constitution, under which each national section agreed to be bound by the decisions of the international organisation as a whole.
Subsequently, the LRCI's sixth congress in 2003 adopted an updated programme - From Protest to Power: A Manifesto for World Revolution - and changed its name to the League for the Fifth International. It regards this as a new 'transitional programme', based on the method of Trotsky's original from 1938, but applied to the current global political situation.
If we were really as evil as these idiots claim we are, we'd let them all gather in one place and then bomb them out of existence. The safest and easiest thing these loonies will ever do in their lives is "protest" the United States. They'd show a lot more courage by publishing a cartoon of Muhammed.
Good point! LOL
Maybe that's what's got them p*ssed off.
Your math might be correct, but theirs shure isn't!!
You can generally adjust true numbers from the a$$clowm enemedia by a factor of 10. +10x for them, -10x for US.
You don't think they know that? Contrary to popular belief, most Austrians were enthusiastic Nazis. That's probably why they're protesting Bush.
The "Million Mom's" and "Million....." whatever, movements were glad to send them their "how to" book.
Useless except for their great pastry.
I hope 50,000 lunatic radicals run wild in the streets. The Pro-illegal immigration rallies backfired here. After illegals were in the streets picketing for rights that no country on earth would give resident illegals, the mood changed alot.
Let's see a peaceful demonstration by this crowd! The best possible outcome is that it is a wake up call.
Big deal. They could get more people than that to go see a lousy Falco impersonator sing Rock Me Amadeus.
What a bunch of Weiners.
Your posting this reminds me of Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. "You're Austrian? Well G'DAY MATE!"
What did Bush have to do with Jenin? Back off the Fosters', mate.
The fact that they call Bush a war criminal and never give a rip about hussein and the horrible things he did and the hundredsof thousands of people he had murdered, raped, tortured and beaten just shows how beyond sanity these extremist protesters really are.
