Lots of good photos. Check 'em out. 2 samples ---->>>
The particularity of the cities is the lack of cars. Everyone is walking, sometimes they take packed public transportatins made of tramways, trolleys and even 2 storie buses. The bicycles are rare and expensive.
The pedestrian zebra is original.
Looks like a warzone with taller buildings built around it to try and disguise it.
Al Gore's paradise.
For another view of North Korean 'prosperity', do a Google image search for a picture named 'EarthLights'. It's a satellite composite of the entire globe at night. It wouldn't be possible for the contrast between NK and SK to be more stark than it is.
We need to pack up the entire Clinton Gang, the Kennedy Gang, the Peloozies, the Kerry's, and Gores, and all the other leftist dirtbags and send them there - permanently. Of course, even the NK's would hate them once they spent time with them.
But these folks need a lesson in what their brand of politics brings....
There is a new beta of Google Earth, good images in N. Korea.
Also, very good images of the border zone.
my son's unit was recently in S. Korea on exercises.....while there he and some other Marines were given a guided tour of the DMZ. A modern city on the NK side was pointed out to them....they were told it was completely vacant, described as a movie lot...no electricity even....from the U.S. outposts they watch the NK soldiers every evening at dusk, come and place candles in random builds etc. so as to look lived in to the civilians SK's accross the DMZ.....they were told it is nothing more than a propaganda tool to show the SK's how good the NK's live.....LOL
What is creepy to you is that the buildings are packed like a bee hive.
It is common in most civilizations to have street access to all dwellings and some of these are 5 houses deep with no way to get in but to crawl between homes.
If there were cars, they could not make it to most dwellings in this picture.
Everything has been sold to buy food. While Kim watches movies.
Good place to send all the leading Democrats, college professors, movie stars and other liberal lunatics who think life in the United States is horrible. I wonder how long a person waits in line for an appendectomy in the Peoples' Paradise?
Great stuff, VERY educational. Also very droll commentary :-)
Oh ya... "all those cars" really need a person directing traffic. That woman either has the most coveted job in town or the traffic lights have no electricity - even at that, its not like all four cars on the road couldn't manage.
This is an entire country living in a seige mentality. I suspect even if you could overthrow the little twerp, the people would undergo severe culture shock for at least two generations when trying to deal with the outside world.
Yeah, but there's no urban sprawl so that's a good thing.
Need to archive these photos for the Before & After ground Zero location pictures.
But I think what may be creepy is that the picture is giving a glimpse of how bad life in North Korea is, considering how Kim denies it. It's like he has the people completely locked down and hidden away from the rest of the world, and has them thoroughly convinced that the rest of the world is worse than how they have it.
Ping.
