The money isn't for speaking engagments. It's pay back for all the favors he's done for these people while in office.
Remember when Ronald Regan received 2 million for speaking in Japan, and the Media and the Dems went wild. Not a peep out of the Media or Dems about Clinton getting 7 1/2 million for speaking in Dubai. When the Clintons came to the White House, they didn't have a pot to p___s in or the window to throw it out of, but on leaving the office they bought 7 1/2 million dollars worth of homes. Did the Media ever question where they got that kind of money. They are millionaires many times over, and no asks how.
All we ever hear about is George W. Bush and the baseball team he owned. At least he came into the office a millionaire, he didn't make his millions in office like the Clintons. I would love to know the truth about the Clintons and where their money comes from, but we'll never know. Maybe 50 years from now, like JFK's real life, they'll tell the truth about Bonnie and Clyde Clinton. At least Bonnie and Clyde were honest about who they were.
