The soldiers have probably been killed. The recon in force is to root out more of the enemy. If the soldiers turn up that would be a bonus.

The element of luck cannot be in the plan. It can come out later, when it is all over, but it is not a military virtue.

Prayers for the 2 missing soldiers and the one that was slain. God be with them and their families and help their brothers in arms return them safely.

If a patrol goes missing it is bad procedure to send another patrol. Do something else.

Hmm. Only saw the other one in Breaking News. Mods must have taken that one out and put yours in. Didn't check the time stamps. Just assumed yours was later as it was put in BN after the other. Sorry.

That's okay - I very rarely post in breaking news. I prefer letting the mods to move my story to breaking news if they wish to that way I know for sure if they consider it breaking news.

Since these things cannot be known, principles of modern military operation have to be used. Some do not understand the Fog of War: you cannot know the very thing you would most need to know.

"Way to go hatemongering MSM."It doesn't matter if it happened in a city of 5 million people where 4,000,999 of them are searching for the missing: the mass media will always home in on the ONE puke who sympathizes (at the least) with the enemy.
