Free Republic Tenth Anniversary Plans (Vanity)

The tenth anniversary of Free Republic is coming up (this November!) As a result, I would like to see some sort of a get-together take place, in either San Diego, Arizona, Texas or Florida (or some other venue in a Freeper-friendly part of the country). What I would really like to see is someone, perhaps a well-known or wealthy lurker, help organize a Freeper Convention that would include banners, flags, Freeper stuff for sale at booths, a Freeper "museum" with displays centering on famous Freeper moments (threads, Freeper Actions, well-known and infamous Freepers, and Freeper lore, etc). Also, I'd like to see a well-known guest speaker emcee the event (Rush Limbaugh? Ann Coulter?) For entertainment, I'd like to see Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Cosby or some other well-known, preferably conservative (or at least not rabid left-wing) entertainers. Any plans afoot for something like this? It would be a blast and we could all get to meet each other in person (travel arrangements could be made for Freepers in other countries).

We could have an award ceremony. Funniest FReeper would definitely go to Dead (or at least he'd get my vote). If the FR booked an event w/ someone like Toby Keith or Alan Jackson, I'd skip a summer vacation and save my "pennies" for a fall trip just about anywhere. How 'bout Memphis? Nashville's real nice.

I vote Ann Counter, she's conservative commentator and comedienne rolled into one package the guys love to oogle.

I vote TEXAS, because it is midway in the country to make it fair for DC FReepers to pay the fare. DC FReepers are the best!

Also, I could visit my family and thus justify the plane ticket cost.

San Diego was my own personal first choice-great weather, plus it has a beautiful Convention Center and the Hotel Del as venues.

Love San Diego. Went to high school and college there.

Just think it would be fairer to make the trip more midpoint in the U.S. for fairness

Also, why give a blue state our travel dollars? I think we should have this get together in a red state.

Along with Rush, the invite list could include many of the top conservative talk show hosts and writers. It would be very interesting to see who would accept.
