Hi gang....finally home from my daughter's house..but I am SO far behind what has been happening in the news and on FR...I feel like I have been gone a year, instead of 10 days.
I DID see about 5 minutes of Murtha this morning..what a blubbering wussy he is....what an embarrassement to have to call him a "Vietnam war hero"...gag me.
To his credit, Bill O'Reilly has driven this point home almost from day one... most guests ignore him when he points it out with a certain "so-what" type of arrogance, but he keeps bring it up again and again -- I remember he even mentioned it to Ben Afflick in Boston during the DNC convention.
Haiti continues to be a hell hole despite jimmy carter and colin powell's good offices.
LOL. True, but since January he hasn't even been partially there, and no one makes any reference to him with the sole exception of Byrd and then only briefly to mention some serious, serious surgery he had and how he might not return until June. I checked Rocky's website and it was back surgery. When I checked again later, references to his back surgery were gone. My best guess...something is up. The surgery excuse was floated and Byrd was the only one addeled enough to buy it for even a minute. I think someone has since clued him in.
#504,exactly...............
Now that the men were charged, the shackles have been removed.
There was an interesting commentary on this yesterday on another website.
Sadly, emotional outbursts do the men no good. Nor does Savage and Hannity ramping up hysteria about the treatment change the facts in the case.
FBI, CIA, just about every department is riddled with traitors.
Maybe he's recovering from a spinal inplant?
Ringo is the clear successor to Jerry Pournelle, in my mind. He also brings the hard science chops and character development that Niven has provided to that duo.
I also really enjoy his collaborations with people like David Weber.
Heinlein's legacy is in good hands.
Wish I could remember who it was.
Maybe two weeks ago.
The wound area looked old and very well healed, but more he had full movement of his limbs and in that area he likely would have been a paraplegic, it also didn't necessarily look like a bullet wound, could have been a healed cigarette burn.
The little girl, very well rehearsed, told the same story twice, to the camera, and on the third she slipped and admitted she knew this bomb was going to go off in the morning and they would "have to stay down."
Now, that doesn't justify a masacre, but then you go to the next thing, the bodies were supposedly found by Shia (the very people who want to regain control of Iraq) and the pic's were taken by their cameraman.... the bodies were too neatly stacked and the bleeding was too suspicious as was the lack of splatter. With such a blood bath there would be a lot of splatter.
All of this will hopefully be resolved when all the autopsy and NCIS investigations are completed.
Sadly, I doubt it. Chung did a really nasty hit on Ann Coulter last week, gussied up as a dream sequence. She had probably been told before that that her show was going to be cancelled; Chung probably wanted these last two weeks to be audition tapes for her next job.
And it'll probably work. Leftist media skanks like Connie Chung, Maury Povich and Dan Rather never go away - they just show up in other MSM jobs every couple-three years or so. You won't find a more poisonously inbred bunch of phony "intellectuals" and self-promoting "elites" anywhere than in the DBM.
Energy Department too. The handling of our most secret nuclear information was compromised more than once. More, Energy is one of the two departments where the Clinton people transfered to at the end of his administration.
"Speaking of media mythology - and somewhat off the subject - but did anyone see the best seller's list?"

~LOL~ did you see the note above where they said it was on his website that he had spine surgery, that Byrd referred to it, and then it was taken off his site. The man has gone from being on all the Sunday Talk Shows (ala Joe Biden, Jack Murtha) to MIA.
#516, I agree about Fred and Mort. We should listen to what they say and if they are wrong or out of touch with us and middle America we can tell them with thousands of E-Mail to them. They both make a very good living and can afford to live differently than the average citizen.. They do not come in contact with the element that we do on a daily basis. Their experience is based on minor contacts with illegals, and they really do not have a clue.
The most positive thing Graham could bring himself to say was that we were now stuck in Iraq and had no other choice but to win. What a maroon.
The best description of Graham I've seen was from another Freeper (whose name eludes me right now) who called him "a doublespeaking jackass who thinks he's the smartest person in the room."
I think he nailed it.
Who, besides PBS or NPR, will take them now?
The VP went as far as he could during a radio interview with Sean Hannity but obviously as VP he could not say anymore.
"THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, I'm sorry to hear John -- Jack Murtha doing that. Jack is somebody I know well. We served together in the Congress many years ago. I think he's prejudging the outcome here. We have not yet seen the final results of that investigation. The people involved are entitled, I believe, to be presumed innocent until proven otherwise. It's very important that we not draw conclusions before we've seen the full results here. These individuals are entitled to be fairly treated, and there's a uniform code of military justice. And that's the way the matter ought to be handled. "
