It looks like there was a Murtha AND a Murphy.

Right.  According to the USA Today article Murtha was the only one of the eight involved that got off. In part that was possible because he testified about the others.

With lowered eyelids and a bite of his lip, Clinton could get away with appearing to be sympathetic to viewers. Murtha trying for something similar, OTOH, just makes people want to scream or throw up.

Gary Sinise has done more for our troops and for bringing civilization to Iraq than most "actors" could dream of, but nary an MSM word. That's fine.

But cher "tiptoes" into a Congressional hearing in a white lace top and GA-GA-GA!!

Feh!

Thanks again, Anita, for the media nuggets. I especially ejoyed the links about convicted felon George Soros, and CNBC's failure to mention it.

The L/MSM/Drive-by media should follow all of their output with the following caveat:

"Paid for by convicted felon and Democrat activist/adviser, George Soros."

You have to forgive the Dims for floundering over the past week, their leader was killed. They are searching for a new despot to align themselves.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

I wondered about the no-Snow of Tony today on MTP also.

Was Tony asked to appear and couldn't 'fit it in?'

or was he not asked. Maybe Timmy didn't want to deal with anyone as knowledgeable and articulate as Tony.

But it's an interesting speculation.

"I have made phone calls to the brig and the attorneys representing these Marines to see what the situation truly is and what can and needs to be done."

Great. Then it should be even easier for you to explain how Bush has inserted himself into the USMC judicial process. Have at it.

"I also know that the Marines are having to spend their own funds for equipment because unlike most on this forum I AM A MARINE and have been financially & emotionally supporting the Marines in Iraq for years."

Again, great. Then it should be even easier for you to provide evidence that Marines have to spend $1000 for their own helmets and armament. What arms are they currently employing in theater that aren't issued?

It's also really valuable to give me a clue on what is likely to happen within Congress, regardless of what's going on in the real world.

Basically, I don't disagree... but Fred was out to lunch on the Miers nomination too. That's not only wearing blinders... that sequestering yourself in a monastery.

“He’s got my back. I got his back,” Hunter, 44, said yesterday as he gestured to his son and fellow soldier, Sgt. Armand Hunter, 23, yesterday at a farewell ceremony at Brockton High School.

The father and son duo are part of the 150-member 101st Field Artillery. They are departing for Iraq after a training stint in New Jersey to guard facilities, provide protection to dignitaries and offer “counter fire” support to other troops in the war-torn country.

My best wishes, gratitude and prayers go with them.

(P.S. PLEASE don't apologize for the whims of cyberspace and html. )

Yet another technical problem with CNN when Eagleberger is asked a question, so Brzesinski gets more time.

"Cher has donated more than $130,000"

Gee, Cher won't be able to get her hair done for two weeks.

(not to denigrate the donation, but...)

Brazile says she does not think Obama will run for president in 2008.

Bwahahahahahahahah!

Step up to the plate homey and watch what happens!

I wish he would run!

Timmy didn't want to deal with anyone as knowledgeable and articulate as Tony.

Lil' Russ had the evil oil company execs already booked. It seems Timmy never took an economics course in his life. He could not grasp the concept of supply and demand despite how many ways the execs explained it to him.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Father's Day to all the FReeper Fathers and Godfathers!!

"Brack Obama is an empty suit, with no accomplishments for anybody to talk about."

Can just stop by for a few today. Here's an article on Osama Obama in case you haven't seen it - - Turban Durbin thinks Obama is "unique"

Obama's Profile Has Democrats Taking Notice
The Washington Post ^ | Sunday, June 18, 2006 | Charles Babington

Posted on 06/17/2006 11:28:04 PM PDT by MinorityRepublican

EAST ORANGE, N.J. -- Barack Obama was standing before a packed high school auditorium when he noticed a familiar face in the crowd -- none other than singer Dionne Warwick. He paused, flashed a mischievous smile, then let loose with a perfectly on-key performance of the opening line of her hit song "Walk On By."

The audience of 300 students and adults roared with approval.

Obama, a first-term Democratic senator from Illinois, seems to be hitting the right notes these days. During Senate recesses, he has been touring the country at breakneck pace, basking in the sudden fame of a politician turned pop star. Along the way, he has been drawing crowds and campaign cash from Democrats starved for a fresh face and ready to cheer what Obama touts as "a politics of hope instead of a politics of fear."

His office fields more than 300 requests a week for appearances. One Senate Democrat, curious about Obama's charisma, took notes when watching him perform at a recent political event. State parties report breaking fundraising records when Obama is the speaker.

The money he is bringing in for fellow Democrats is shaping up as an important influence on 2006. And the potential Obama is demonstrating as a political performer -- less than two years after his elevation from the Illinois state legislature -- is prompting some colleagues to urge him to turn his attention to 2008 and a race for the presidency. Obama has made plain he is at least listening.

"I think he is unique," said Illinois's senior senator, Richard J. Durbin (D). "I don't believe there is another candidate I've seen, or an elected official, who really has the appeal that he does."

Brzezinski says the consequences of using force in Korea are unthinkable. I guess he hasn't thought about the consequences of N. Korea lobbing a nuke at some other country. Is that not unthinkable? Eagleburger thinks it is. Brz also thinks that Iran having nuclear capability is no different than Japan having it, which they do. He really sees no difference between the two governments????
