Biden: 'Security and faith' keys to win presidency

DOVER, N.H. --Calling the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks a greater shock to the American psyche than Pearl Harbor, U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden said Saturday that Democrats must demonstrate they can provide for national security to win back the presidency.

The Delaware Democrat spoke to just over 100 people gathered at an event organized by Strafford County Democrats.

"I'm running for president -- flat out," he said, adding his party should learn to be more blunt.

"The next Democrat, whether it's me or Sen. Clinton or John Kerry, whomever -- the Democratic nominee -- they'd better be able to ante up right in front of the American people two things: security and faith," he said.

President Bush beat Kerry in 2004 because people wanted to believe he would keep them safe, Biden said. The mothers who voted for him still want one thing primarily: "Security for their families, physical security," he said.

Biden also criticized Democrats for their sometimes patronizing approach to religion, saying believers of different faiths don't expect everyone to join them.

"They just want to know we respect them," he said. "If we can't negotiate the faith issue, forget it, we won't win."

Biden argued in favor of more money for homeland security, saying in his conversations with the nation's wealthy, he found them willing to forgo their Bush tax cuts for the cause.

Slow Joe speaks to 100, half probably press, and gets positive MSM coverage. The same media would excoriate George Allen over the limited audience.

When dead souled Democrat politicians can show me that God would approve of abortion on demand and cannibalizing humans at their embryo age, then and only then will I begin to pay attention to their 'faith' whine. But I can assure them their father, the father of lies, is paying close attention to their ghoulism.

Truth and Freedom are the keys that buttress life Joe. Democrats are averse to both.

Looks as if Joe has figured out how to win the presidency. Respect us faith believing peons, and take more money from the rich to insure our security.

Yep, that will do it.

Now Joe,define rich.

Clinton and/or Kerry or any Demrat for that matter; 'having' to ante up . . .with offers/bluffers of security and faith makes only for political farce.

These Demrats can only 'pray' that their narcissistic, power-winning dreams come true. . .and that their joke will be on us.

A joke for sure; but a bad one. . .

Biden also criticized Democrats for their sometimes patronizing approach to religion, saying believers of different faiths don't expect everyone to join them. "They just want to know we respect them," he said.

Right about here I was ready to drop my jaw in shock that a Democrat finally got it. Finally started to understand it isn't that Americans NEED a Christian in every office, but we don't appreciate being stepped on, disrespected, and basically being told if we must practice an out of date plebian faith that we do so with our doors shut and windows shuttered.

Then as is typical he doesn't know when to stop.

"If we can't negotiate the faith issue, forget it, we won't win."

Negoitiate? And here we arrive back at the start. He might as well have said we have to learn "Godspeak" just long enough to fool them into electing us.

Not that some Republicans are any better. I'd say the majority of both parties consider their "faith", such as it might be, to be negoitiable for political purposes.

It's just that there are more Democrats that feel free to "negoitiate" away our religious rights because their base is inceasingly "Godless" to co-opt a certain book title.

He speaks of Democrats having to prove they are tough on security to win, then suggests spending money is the answer.

Typical alternatives to oil brought up as platform.

Diverting tax cuts from the "rich" to pay for Homeland security. If he suggested cutting pork for Homeland ecurity, he'd have a winning issue. But, no such luck.

Democrats have two choices if they want security creds.

a) Support the WOT which includes Iraq!

b) Close our borders, crack down on employers, no amnesty and no guest workers.

No scamming us, we won't buy it. You must have actionable results on one or the other, preferably both. Spending money won't do it for you.

Biden has absolutely no chance of winning whatsover.

I don't know why the good people of Delaware keep electing this fraudulent, disingenious pile of horse vomit.

It's the same-old same-old.

Like new packaging on laundry detergent touting the "new and improved" cleaner, but which is actually the same old stuff just in a smaller package to make it seem "concentrated," so goes the Dems when they have to disguise their socialist policies.

You know, you don't often think of horses vomiting. Dogs, yes but not horses. And wouldn't oats and hay be a couple of steps lower on the olfactory assault scale?

I think that given that dog's eat some pretty smelly rotten things, Joe Biden might better be compared to dog barf. But perhaps we should save that for my favorite Ricky Durbin.

In other news Adolph Hitler says the key to winning lays in reaching out to Jews. No thanks Joe, we know what you people represent. Go back to your hole with your child molester buddies from the ACLU. You'll probably see Bin Laden there, another person democrats support.

Fine. All they have to do is write a check to the national treasury, miscellaneous receipts.

"If we can't negotiate the faith issue, forget it, we won't win."

That's the essence of Democratic "faith". Sell their Christianity (couldn't be anything else if they expect, for now anyhow, to win) rather than PRACTICE it. I always get the feeling when, say, Kerry or Cruella DeVille--er, make that Senator Clinton--utter some religion, that there is an implied "wink" to assure their supporters that they don't really mean it...it's just necessary hoakum to win the swing vote.

>> "I'm running for president -- flat out" <<

No kidding Joe, you've been running for Presidency for about 20 years now. And when you're not running for the Presidency you've been running re-election to the Senate for about forty years. Have you EVER had a job in the private sector or can we look forward to seeing Biden for President 2024 Committee?
