N. Koreans Ordered To Raise Their Flag At 2PM, and Listen to Broadcast

N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.

The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

What is the big deal about this launch? Is somebody afraid the payload will crash in their cabbage patch and require half a day of raking to straighten?

I'm going back through the posts I slept through this morning and I had to mention...

When I moved to Denver from Chicago I laughed so hard the first winter -- people were already saying how cold it was when it got below 32. Felt warm to me! LOL

Then for at least the first few summers there it was easy to be comfortable for me until it got into the 90s. Without all that humidity it felt nice... Now, we are back in WI and I think I must've pleasantly forgotten how hot it is when the air is filled with water, too... At least we have air conditioning now though. If I can at all help it I intend never to go through another summer without air! LOL

Then when it does rain in late summer, the air smells almost like gingerbread...spicy...from the dust that kicks up. Much nicer than southern dirt in a light rain...

None the less I miss the smell of southern dirt in the rain.

The United States is tied for 37th on that list with Iran. Such is the power of a strong economy. I do imagine the list is a few years old, though.

Hitler had been shot at a Nazi demonstration in Munich in the late 20s, which at least temporarily immobilized his arm. In the attempted bomb assassination his arm was badly injured. The one with the bad arm all along was the Nazi from Berlin, Goebbels, the propaganda expert.

Thank you for your post #342 and the link to: "Appeasing North Korea: the Clinton Legacy"

For anyone who missed Starwise's post, review it and also read the article/link.

Also correctly stated in the article is that the Democrats, even as we read along here today -have continued to try to put the blame on President Bush for N Korea attaining nuclear weapons which is totally false.
It was: Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and the Democrats - - who fully armed N Korea with nuclear bombs.

Nuclear technology has been well known since the fifties. Anybody can do it if he has enough budget. Don't need any finger-pointing or other conspiracies.

You mean he was a good administrator with the right technical background and people skills.

People like that are always valuable. Lots of geek types with the technical saavy, lots of administrators who have people skills but don't have the technical saavy to undersand what's really going on, and some rare ones who meld the two together...and have the vision to get the job done.

The hardest part is the beryllium reflector. Anybody can make a plutonium bomb, and missiles are no trick anymore either. Clintons or no Clintons. Nobody needs to explain to the N Kors how to do this.

I think the big deal as for as I see it, is were we going to play chicken or blow the sucker up, in case it wasn't a test? Either way , we were being threatened. Most Americans take that seriously and respond in kind.

Good Gawd! Do they sell'em from storefronts like puppies or something?

Not quite. But I'm told you can rent them from storefront windows in Amsterdam...
