N. Koreans Ordered To Raise Their Flag At 2PM, and Listen to Broadcast
N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.
The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

He said he was only getting 1MB for his Internet, that's not that great. I am getting 7+ MB from my cable connection. I am surprised the 128K ISDN is used for remote hosting. I would think a Frame Relay VPN tunnel be ideal considering the higher speeds, privacy and level of service guarantees.
I don't turn on the air conditioner until the house hits 85...I just run fans. Growing up where it never gets below 80 for six months of the year teaches you a certain tolerance...and most of the year here it's pretty dry.
I'm looking forward to moving to Boise this fall...the air will be drier. Then when it does rain in late summer, the air smells almost like gingerbread...spicy...from the dust that kicks up. Much nicer than southern dirt in a light rain...
So, was there no official broadcast at 2 o'clock in Korea? We should at least have that word leaking out.
All I can get right now is the Philippines - nothing.
*sigh*. The only good thing I can offer to this Houston conversation is that we DO have a pool, and it is enjoyable this time of year. If Kim doesn't blow us to hell tonight, that is! Happy target practice!
'A Japanese government official, quoted by the daily Sankei Shimbun, said North Korea's leadership had told its people to raise the national flag at 2:00 pm (0500 GMT) and to then monitor television for a "message to the people".
The time came and went without any reports of a missile test.
A South Korean government official cautioned against reading too much into Pyongyang's instructions to its people.
The Yonhap news agency quoted him as saying that Monday marks the 42nd anniversary of the start of leader Kim Jong-il's career at the central committee of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, and people were urged to watch television on June 18 last year.
Nevertheless, CBS News reported that South Korea's ambassador to the United States, Lee Tae-sik, had told Korean correspondents in Washington that Pyongyang may have fuelled a missile already.
"Satellite photos confirmed scores of fuel tanks near the missile launch pad. We are not sure whether they had already completed fuelling or located (the tanks) there to fuel it," he said.
Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso said in a television interview that his country would seek an immediate meeting of the U.N. Security Council if Pyongyang went ahead with an intercontinental ballistic missile test.'

My understanding now is that the flags were to be flown at 2, with a broadcast to follow "soon".
Pocatello --not bad.
Be glad you're not going to be further south...Fire Weather Watches coming up all over Utah and parts of Wyoming.
I think we may have crossed into 3 million acres burned year to date today.
Let me guess. The mean old 'Mericans splashed their peaceful "satellite" launch. More news at 7:00.
Boise is beautiful (and quite Republican) - I love that place. Make sure you play some golf near the Sawtooths and go biking once in awhile along the river. God's Country, there.
[Shhhhhh!]
Well, that cheeky Kim Jong. How rude, to make people wait in limbo like that.
Same here, we will just have to wait.
"Japan will immediatly bring the matter to the UN Security Council"
Oooh! I bet that really scares 'em!
I remember needing to mow that St. Augustine grass twice a week this time of year.
I miss St. Augustine grass, and living in a really big community.
I don't miss the smog.
I also don't miss driving cross town. I lived in Pearland, and my brother lived out past Hewlett Packard. about 50 miles from my house, and I usually ended up driving over there Friday evenings to pick up my nieces so they could go to Gramma's.
They do tend to drive crazier in Utah, but not as hard. Tailgate worse here.
We own a house there. We will be moving back there this fall, and I am looking forward to it. It's a gem of a city.
I love Idaho.
I just switched my TV over to NBC. They're showing a rerun of SNL featuring Dane Cook (who?) and James Blunt. Shortly after midnight (for you left-coasters like me), tune in and watch him sing "You're Beautiful." Each time he sees the camera near him, he stares unblinkingly into it like Cindy Brady. It's creepy and very deer-in-headlights. People still talk about it in the bloggysphere.
