I'll give you a memory of south Texas. It's about 85 degrees right now. Humidity of 100%. My windows are so fogged up they looked painted. I just walked outside and choked on the thickness of the air. ;)

Art is using comrex tonight while waiting for the installation of his ISDN line. He picked the specific neighborhood for access to ISDN. It is a high tech area. He picked the condo on the 19th floor for better security. His connection has dropped a few times tonight, but it's going pretty well for a stop gap setup.

Is Art trying to convince everyone that the Philippines has all the modern conveniences we have here?It sounds like he is trying to convince himself of that... I give him six months before he heads back to the states.

If Art considers ISDN modern high speed connectivity, his idea of "modern" is off kilter.

I remember those days, too. Grew up in New Orleans...and I have been through more than one summer with no or little air conditioning.
People I know wonder why I don't think it's hot until it's over 85....
Right now it's 63 with 50 percent humidity. It is supposed to get up to 89 tomorrow though...but it didn't break 85 today...

If Art considers ISDN modern high speed connectivity, his idea of "modern" is off kilter.ISDN is the standard arrangement for remote studio connections. I've worked with many people who host radio programs or produce them. They all use ISDN to do the remote connection. Art is using an 802.11g wireless connection to his computer to handle the web/desktop chat.

I did visit Houston last July. The first thing I noticed was how thick the air was...right now, my front porch is at 4500 ft above sea level, thereabouts. Even when it gets sultry, and thanks to the Salt Lake, that does happen occasionally in July or August, the air never feels as thick as that air in Houston or New Orleans...

I think that was his point, but I'm not sure. He did say that Premiere Networks (Burbank, CA?) is picking all his music now. I remember when he used to say that Ramona did that.

Drudge has said he uses ISDN to do his Sunday night show. They're dual channel also. It works pretty well from what others have said.

Good for you!! I KNOW you're going to have a fantastic time...!

It's 64 degrees with 29% humidity tonight in Pocatello, ID. A very pleasant evening. We're expecting light and variable winds in the morning tomorrow. That bodes well for a trip to the range. It usually too windy to keep a standard paper bullseye steady. I'm going to switch to mostly steel spinners to improve the number of range friendly days.
